Mark Shlereth (sp?) had a scathing commentary on Childress last night on Sports Center and you wonder if he's right. Two weeks ago, the book was closed on Favre according to Chilly. However, behind the team's back, he keeps calling Brett. Suddenly the book isn't closed. Is that the kind of accountability, honesty, integrity, etc., you want from your head coach? He predicts the Vikes don't even make the playoffs. quote] And the amazing thing over here in Minnesota is that no one "gets" this. Is Brett better than either Rosenfels or Jackson? Probably. Super Bowl good? Maybe. But the thing is he better be or this team could implode. I think this is a "high risk" locker room move that could pay big-time dividends or actually set the franchsie back. To me, it's pretty clear this works or Childress is gone. Pacdoty, I couldn't bear to listen to more than a few minutes of the press conference when I was driving home. If one can believe Brett (and that's the challenge these days), this isn't about getting back at Thompson or the Packers (although it's hard to believe he won't be a little more pumped for that game than all the others), it's about playing and trying to get back to the Super Bowl one more time. And that's what it should be about. I've kind of laughed at Brett the past few seasons though (along with laughing at a lot of his most ardent fans) in that for someone who is "all about the game," it certainly gets to be a lot about "Brett deserving to get back to the Super Bowl." Should be fun.

"REAL PACKER FANS WILL UNDERSTAND." NFL football would would truly not be the same, IF the Packers and Packer fans did not have Favre to kick around. Welcome back 'Vicodin kid,' you will need them, especially after playing the Packers.

If nothing else, this whole thing gives people something to disagree about. There's nothing wrong with that. It's what makes debates, discussions, and disagreements important.
It's getting opposing points of view that differ even between people who are on the same side of an issue, that makes the whole thing interesting, and actually sheds more light on issues relative to the situation that we sometimes fail to see ourselves.
As for Favre, the person, no matter how this whole things end, he had one helluva great run in Green Bay, and the team, franchise, and fans, all benefited from it just like he did.
He's still one of the best we ever had in green & gold.
But, now that he's gone, let's see if the Packers can sack him repeatedly, force turnovers, and just plain show him that the Packers are the Packers, and tough, no matter who they put under center.
It's a team, a community of fans, and an organization, that has more pride than anyone else surrounding the game, and no matter what, we're still all Packer fans.

I guess that is what pisses me off the most, is the impact that this whole mess has upon the entire Packer organization, fans and community. I do not behave dignified and classy at times because my emotiongs sometimes get the best of me, but I will put aside the JD and try to do my best.

tw You have indeed put the cherry on the sundae. Favre will always be a legacy of the Packers football organization. He returned the Pack to prominence and had a heck of a run and we will always owe him that. Now that he's a Viking lets not help make him the first QB to help the Vikings win a SB.

AGEE AGREE AGREE AGREE AGREE!!!!! Well put!!! Favre needs to be stopped! Ultimately I can't see this ending well for the Vikings which is a great thought! Favre will again choke in the playoffs. He will again try ot put on his Superman cape come December and Jan. only to realize, after it is too late, that he put on the Bizzaro cape and out come the INT's!!!! This new defense should give him fits...he never saw it in practice during his tenure in Green Bay and he won't see it out of the Vikings defense either!! So when Brett chokes and all the current QB's are disenfranchised the Vikings ship will begin to sink! Down with the Titanic it will rest! I can't wait to see it all unfold!
