I'll never understand how anyone can be so evil as to plant bombs with the intent of injuring, or killing, innocents. It's the ultimate act of cowards.
That said, those responsible for what happened at the Boston Marathon need to be found, and made to pay for what they did.
There is no place on planet earth for them to hide. We're coming for them, as a nation.

Complete cowards! This is a sick world we live in, I don't understand how anyone can do something like that.

So who do you think did it? I got a couple of groups that come to mind. Islamic Terrorists, IRA (Boston has strong Irish ties), some white American making a statement on Tax Day, people that hate joggers, etc?
I'll say it's Islamic Terrorists. They are cowards and that's how they play. They play dirty by hurting innocent victims.

I am trying to keep an open mind on this. I don't want to throw anyone under the bus. I'm inclined to believe Muslim extremists, but that's just conjecture.
Let's face it. There are those that would do something like this just so we will blame all Muslims for it happening. When we take that stance, they win.
Still, like so many people, I have this feeling in the back of my mind that it's international terrorism.

Very sad for sure...and the device type (from the little they have been described) seems to be very IED like from what we have read about the roadside bombs in Iraq.
With their elections coming soon...and some attacks hitting there today too...seems a possible connection.
Just a sickening event. Can't get my head around all of it...and as a runner know several people who were there...and all appear to have come out ok (one had finished about 5 minutes before the blast...and his wife and kids were right in between the two blasts).

What I don't know is if this was a one man show or if there were more involved. It almost sounds that it was only one guy just dropping bombs as he walked along the end of the route. I hope they catch the SOB ASAP!!

The more I have read...but have not kept up with the last couple of hours...was that it was very amateur. Things not set up/pointing outward so the blast went upward rather than forward. Hate saying that it could have been worse (because for those affected that seems insensitive)...but a more "pro" could have cause many more deaths it seems.

True. It wasn't the work of genius bomb builders. Fortunately.
These were purely daisy cutter intent from what I can gather. The type we saw in Iraq, and are seeing in Afghanistan.

Seems pressure cooker loaded with shrapnel (ball bearings)...things they have seen overseas.
But yet, no international chatter at all about this making it seem more homegrown as well.
The worst story that keeps getting to me is the 8 year old that died. Had gone out to his dad to give him a hug before he finished. Went back to his mom and sister when the blast hit. 8 year old died...sister lost a foot or leg...and mom was badly injured. Can't imagine what that dad is going through. Saying that as a father of a little girl and an 8 year old son who came out and gave me a high 5 last year right before I finished the Memphis Marathon (as I limped in on a disappointing but inspiring day).
That and the guy there...can't recall his name right now...but helped out the guy many of seen pictures off missing a leg. The guy who helped him lost a son in either Iraq or Afghanistan...and another son took his own life not too long ago. He was there with pictures of his sons on his shirt and handing out flags...can't recall the whole story on him being there...but he apparently was one to help a guy who was so incredibly brutally hurt. The interview with him was awful as his hands could not stop shaking as he retold what went on.

There are so many stories that go with what happened. As Americans, we've always believed in using those stories to reinforce our thirst for our way of life. They inspire us to move on, and do better, if we can.

to kill people like children and women, that are not even done a thing to harm anybody and to do so with such maming, letheal weapons, is a true act of a sick, evil, person, who should be extenquished the first hour they capture them. I just saw a clip of a NFL player, Joe. Andrewszize that played for the Pats. He took some girls mother that they were trying to carry for help and he picked here up and ran to the nearest abulance, Now that is a true Patroit! Thanks for being an American, and God Bless all in this great country who must stand up and fight for freedom.

Andruzzi played for the Packers as well to start his career.
I think he was running or there to support a charity (of his I think) that raises money for cancer resarch I believe.

He was there promoting his charity. I saw an interview where he talked about it.

CNN reporting they may have identified a suspect. Said to have a clear image from several videos of someone carrying and dropping a backpack near the 2nd blast site.
Hope they nail him.
