Hostess has a CEO they hired this year early, to restructure the business to make it easier to aquire the money for themselves. He is earning only 125,000 a month. no wonder they would not buy new machines or redesign there products to sell more, they had no intent to do so, they wanted the proifts and the business name to give the CEO and board the money, nice work

That's what I mentioned a long time ago in this thread. The intent of playing hardball with the union was to make the company appear leaner in it's operations, thereby making their sell off of product name, and facilities, easier. Less cost for "new" owners, who would strip it anyhow.
They never intended getting a contract. They got exactly what they wanted, but would have taken more, had the union knuckled under.

just to clear up i thing, teo different unions are involved, and one wanted to take the offer and the second , the bakers union did not. Both know that all it was is a money grab, and that chapter 11 was going down either way. That is a fact. now remember the "''hostess name" is worth big money. next they bring in a person beginning of this year named Greg Rayburn, he was to restructure the business, fund out where the money is, and to do that they are paying him 125,000 dollars a month. all to do what is really already done, Chapter 11 is and was a done deal. SO why would they pay that kind of money if they wanted to try and keep the business sound?

The methodical deconstruction of Union influence is orchestrated by the very wealthy and wrapped in the cloak of middle class supporters in the form of "let the free market dictate wages"; a free market that isn't so free.
I have heard those stating that Unions have outlived their initial programming. I totally disagree. Unions keep the greed in check and keep wages higher because non-union shops have to compete with Union shops to get the better talent.
Without Unions, the money floats to the top leaving workers under-employed and under paid.
Fiscal policies that leave ignorant conservatives complaining about the by-product of their fiscal positions when working families need help with heating fuel, food, etc.

What's forgotten by those at the top is the fact that only those people who are earning enough money can afford the luxuries the wealthy have made, for sale.
The lower the wages, the lower sales expectations should be.
That's one of the reasons that so much is made overseas, because the total cost of manufacturing is below the purchasing level of Americans.
The only way to bring this in check is by leveling the playing field on imports, through taxation, even if the company is American, but manufacturing overseas.

that is also the reason prices have jumped so ,much as more people cannot afford the cost of sporting events , concerts, and only the higher middle class can, the number sgo down until the only people as you mention TW are the rich. the wealthy are so thoughtless and greedy they see it but do not care. As an example i used to go to 15 baseball games a year with familly and to at least 5 football games to. plus going to one or two concerts . travleing to a vaction place or cruise, But NO MORE, to much money, I earned a decent living, but i have been by passed by the greedy rich who keep shrinking the working majority who can aford to do anything. they do not care , it is a shame that so many Americans think that the way to help everyone be happy is giving the wealthy tax breaks and laws for them to get richer and keep more of what they make , all while the working majority are paying more just to have a roof over there haed and pay the utilities and food bills and the rising cost of health care. soon there will be only the very few rich and the rest will be filthy rich with nowhere to spend there moneyof course that has happened already for the 1%. they have hundreds of Millions and will never spend any of it because what they do spend gives themn everything they want, as a fact they have done everything possible and that is one reason why they have a problem in the real world and have problems, they cannot find anything to do that is different, and they get bored. So they make themselves happy by hurting the working poor, it makes them feel good,.

The last time my wife and I went to a Packer game, in 2002, it cost us $2,000.
It's now out of our reach, being totally retired. I watch on TV.
