I've received a few emails asking to come back. Decided I should up date my status if life.
I turned in my retirement papers in March. I was young enough to do it. Because of my timing I have wonderful health benefits. It's a bittersweet retirement. If the state BS would not have taken place I probably would be doing my job. At this point in time I can't deal with over zealous political type people in real life or forums. Living through February and March has made me more apolitical than ever.
Officially my retirement began June 15 but to me it began the end of August. I am teaching for a local university which I love. My church school has asked if I would sub for them. I've done it once which was totally exhausting. I've been spending more time with my pup and mom. I take each day at a time and enjoy it.
Take care! BAP

Congratulations. Yes, you are way too young to have retired. However, you can spend more time with your Mom and puppy, can devote more time and help others at your church and local university. We miss ya.

Congrats on the retirement. It sounds like it's not a real retirement though, since you're working. Kind of like me. Retired, yet working. In fact, I haven't had a day off in over two weeks. I just keep rolling up more hours. For a part time job, working over 60 hours a week is kind of strange, but I do it, because I really do want to work some. I don't like sitting around, doing nothing. That situation with the schools, thanks to Walker, is a real joke. I've never seen a politician as stupid as he is when it comes to education. It's as if he's trying to create an uneducated class of people to work for peanuts, then complaining about those getting that little getting assistance.

Interesting, that this amount of hours are considered part time. Yup, NOBODY in the US is allowed to retire at ANY age and IF you do retire..I am sure that it is temporary at best, and you are out there working again. WTF is wrong with this picture? I know that BAP DOES NOT like politics, the continued fighting amongst Democrats, Republicans, Americans... but people need to stand up and express how they feel..unless they want to be paid peanuts, working 60+ hours/week, working until they die, all of which pour moi is WRONG. At the same time, there are many people who are and have been taking advantage of our system that are responsible for what many Americans are experiencing today..and that includes both the haves and have nots. Tis why compromise and using your heart as a compass between right and wrong and trying very, very hard to do the right thing is essential.
