Just got back from a Friday cocktail party. This one featured Sangria. They made the Sangria yesterday. Five gallons of it! So, I had to do my share in drinking it. One of the guests was down in Florida this morning, and flew up here in a private jet owned by a company in Milwaukee. He brought 20# of fresh caught shrimp. Half of it was still alive when it got here, and was cooked! That's fresh shrimp! Not frozen, at Walmart! ;D My wife made the hot spinach/avocado dip that they make at Applebee's. Thin tortilla chips, heated just before serving. There was Caesar salad, a second salad with dressing choices, including blue cheese, where you actually ground your own roquefort onto the dressing. Bananas, picked three days ago in a friend's back yard in Florida, sliced, and added to a strawberry compote. Slices of venison sausage with crackers, smoked salmon, crab salad with chunk crab, and Maryland crab cakes. I missed a few things. Swedish meat balls, smokey links in BBQ sauce, and about a dozen other things. I'm full, tired, and after four Sangrias, a bit tipsy. I think I'll rest for a while!
