We are planning to head there for the 4th of July weekend for a short getaway. Has anyone been there that can share ideas on what to see, places to go, best places to eat etc?
Any ideas would be appreciated!

I have family out of Overland Park, KS. They never spent much time in KC, except for great restaurants, fantastic music entertainment, and the sports venues, which are very good for visitors - easily accessible.
Anyhow, that's what I've been told.

I saw KC and the Packers play along time ago in KC. I saw some wild Buffalo during my visit to my Dad, who lived in KC for a short time and was soooooooo surprised that there were sooooooo many white people and very few minorities.
Other then that, I do not remember much about KC.

Close to 40% of the people living in KC itself are minority. That's gone up significantly over the last 25 years, an educator friend of mine indicated, who is black, and worked in the KC system for most of his career said it was a good environment to raise children, but was changing rapidly due to the high unemployment, and the problems associated with it.

We ate there Brewer - it was very good. We also ate at Oklahoma Joe's BBQ and that was our favorite. We had a great time. We spent almost an entire day at the Harry Truman Library/museum. It was very interesting. KC was a very fun city and we had a blast!
