How much would it cost to build a decent 12 x 16 deck? How about if you add seating to it? Let's say 3 segments of 4' seating on two sides, with a gap on the long side, for a 4' stairs? Well, to answer the question, roughly $1,100 for materials, and hardware. That would include delivery. The material delivery is only $65. Well, we got one. The price? Free, but we had to move it. So, we talked to these guys who have a place near ours, up here at the lake, because one of them has an older Bobcat. The guy looked at the deck we wanted moved, and said; "We'll move it for $100." "Deal!" I said, immediately. I had just gotten a 12 x 16 deck free, but had to move it within a week. They moved it today. Anyhow, I gave the guy $100 this morning before they did the job, and they not only moved it, they positioned it exactly where I want it, and all I have to do is jack it up the way I want it, put additional supports under it, and add stairs. It will be finished, except for the job of power washing it, replacing a couple of bad planks (if needed), staining it, and adding three sets of stairs. Then we'll add the bar, and the back bar, which will include a place for a TV, small refrigerator, and eventually... maybe even a refrigerator converted to a beer dispenser. There's nothing like "roughing it" with an out door beer dispenser.
