So, what plans does everyone have for the long Memorial Day weekend?

This is the first Memorial Day in years, where I've truly been healthy. I may not be strong enough to do too much yet, but I'm going to do a few things I've wanted to do for years. Little things, around the house, but not real time consuming. Also, a get-together with friends on Saturday evening for a party, and dinner. Then it's on to the dance at the pavilion, where we'll all enjoy the live music. Sunday includes Church, followed by a BBQ at another friend's place, then a trip to the pavilion, where there's going to be a DJ playing old rock from our era of the late 50s to early 70s. Of course we'll have a couple of drinks along the way, but not too much. Monday it's to the Memorial Day Parade here in town for ceremonies. After that, we're having a BBQ with friends, and we'll be playing yard games. In the evening, about 6 PM, we're having a pool party, complete with a Margarita bar, and tapas. Everyone furnishes tapas, so we have a big variety. It's going to be a quiet weekend. Not doing much!

Well our weekend just got a little bit busier. Last night we went for Mexican food with some friends....awesome salsa and great margaritas on the rocks. Tonite which I thought was our off night, just got booked with some friends coming over for evening snacks and wine. Tomorrow my brother-in-law, sister-in-law, 2 nieces and our neighbors to the south are coming over for a BBQ of chicken brats, turkey Italian sausages, jerk chicken breasts, homemade potato salad, homemade pasta salad, bakes beans and for dessert.......homemade strawberry shortcake (My grandmas recipe). We went this morning and bought a case of wine (yikes it cost way more than I wanted it to). Monday my sister and her family are coming over along with my mom and we are having beef tenderloin on the grill, parsley red potatoes, asparagus on the grill and once again, strawberry shortcake for dessert. I am going to need to go back to work to relax....yikes I never thought this weekend would have turned out like this.

Now that's a weekend to remember! I like weekends that are busy. Today we had a deck moved in, and we're just partying straight through, and we'll work on the deck after the holiday. Priority #1 is party.....
