NEW ORLEANS – A Louisiana justice of the peace said he refused to issue a marriage license to an interracial couple out of concern for any children the couple might have. Keith Bardwell, justice of the peace in Tangipahoa Parish, says it is his experience that most interracial marriages do not last long. news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20091015/ap_on_re_us/us_interracial_rebuff

I told you all that racism is alive and well in the south. It's just done under the guise of "other names" to protect the morons who practice it. I like how this guy said he has "piles of black friends." It sounds he's the one with piles.

Oh I see how it is. You disagree with government internvention that conflicts with your values.
I would think liberals would be excited that a government official told a citizen how it's gonna be.

Thanks TM. You are right. I do pregnant dog about government interaction that violates my sense of value. For TW: I agree. For Amoeba: Hasn't it been the liberals agenda to purge America of religion so that Government can be the new religion that Americans worship?

PC,
Not true on liberals and faith. I'm Catholic, and most Catholics are liberal.
As for whether we put government or faith ahead of the other, each has their area of purvey. It isn't something that can be answered with a blanket statement.

I am Catholic as well and I believe we should abide but what this country was set out to accomplish which is seperate church and state.

Your thought processes are inconsistent. If you believe this nation is to abide by what it's founding fathers envisioned why undermine personal liberties? Heavy taxation of government was also a basis for founding this nation, so why embrace heavy taxation from our government? Why undermine the rights of 85 percent for the needs of a 15 percent minority?

The nice thing about being a conservative is that you don't have to speak in concise terms, you can whip out any argument you want, after twisting the facts, and you'll get other conservatives to agree with the hypothesis of what you said, simply because they ain't smart enough to know you've been BSing them!

Maybe we should have no taxes and that way we can have no military, fire, ems, police, city workers, federal, state and local roads, schools, libraries, US Postal, mass transit, etc. Their main cause they were pissed about taxes was taxation without representation was it not?

You're right. It was taxation without representation that bothered the colonists. Initially they wanted a voice in Parliament to stand up for themselves when it came to taxes in the new country.
But "new," or "neo" Conservatives don't care about that. They want to make it sound like something different. Zero tax tolerance.
Yet... they're right there in line screaming that they need help from the police, fire departments, and government services, when they need it for themselves.
