Looks better than last year that's for sure. I think our run blocking is gonna be better this year for sure, seeing as they put an emphasis on it. I like colledge now haha, he used to be so bad.

I kinda like the line of Spitz, Sitton, Colledge, Barbre and Clifton. O line was one of my biggest areas of concern heading into this year. I'm not feeling good about the depth if Cliffie goes down, the number 2 and 3 guys have sucked in pre-season, lots of pre-snap penalties.
It would be nice if MM decides the above 5 are his starting guys and has them playing and practicing together from here on out.

My foot is STILL up Sitton's arse.
IF I were a Packers coach, I would still be raging at him and making him run banks and/or bear crawls.
Just take a gander at Sitton's effort during Ryan Grant's 3 yard run in the 1st quarter.

I agree they look better, but I want to see a whole game before I get really excited. I think it will come down to the conditioning... Something we apparently weren't doing very well for awhile. I hope they look as good as they have all year. It could be huge for us.

I still believe the weakest link we have on the team is the offensive line.
In all honesty, I haven't seen them challenged by anyone "yet."

Hopefully we'll be able to brag about similar performances 3 months from now after we face defenses like Pittsburgh, Minnesota (x2), and Baltimore. The good news is we have time to develop before those games.
On a positive note, I am pleased with our progress against Buffalo. I would have predicted them (and did, actually on this board) as a strong up-n-comer, especially on the defensive side of the ball. But, these wins don't matter for anything more than one-week's worth of bragging yet.

McCarthy just announced that Spitz is the starter at center, Barbre will be the guy at RT.

I'm with TW on this one. The o-line is this team's weak link - though the d-line isn't far behind. Barbre kind of got the RT spot by default because Breno is just so-so and still makes too many mistakes. Sitton also kind of got the job by default. He's not the best RG, but because Spitz got the C job, Sitton gets RG.
I still believe that the o-line needs an infusion of better quality talent. For now, it is what we've got, and there is no point spend big time FA money on is anymore, but I would like to see TT invest some 1st and 2nd RD picks there in the next 2 years as opposed to just 4-6th Rd developmental guys. I have nothing against Barbre, Giaco, Meredith, Lang, etc. The problem is it takes these guys years to develope and they are forced to play before they are ready. On the job training for o-linemen is not the best way to keep A.R. healthy.

It takes years for good lines to develop. With our last great line, only Clifton and Tauscher played right away. It took years for Rivera, Wahle, and Flanagan (because of his injuries mainly) to develop. Of those players, both Tauscher and Rivera were second-day picks.
I think the talent is there, it just has to gel. Thompson really blew up the previous offensive line and takes some well-deserved heat for that, but I think the base of players for the O-line is at least average right now and could be pretty good if everyone learns how to work together and stays healthy.
