WTF. I wonder how many were Browns fans. "one for carrying alcohol into the game" Any officer who arrested a Packers fan for this offense, can kiss my arse.  Seventeen people were arrested Saturday at Lambeau Field during the Green Bay Packers-Cleveland Browns game, the Green Bay Police Department said. The charges included two for disorderly conduct, two for unlawful conduct at a public event, 12 for underage drinking, one for resisting an officer, one for carrying alcohol into the game and several for outstanding warrants.
The number of arrests was high for a preseason game, Capt. Rich Demro said. "It seemed like a younger crowd," he said. Ya know, as we were out at half time getting a beer, I said to my wife that there seems to be a lot more drunkin idiots at this game more so than normal. A lot of the season ticket holders dump this games tickets to offset the cost of the regular season games. I had a kid who couldn't have been more than 20 next to me so wasted he couldn't hardly stand. What a treat to say the least sitting next to him.

The Packers have a text-message alert fans can use to notify authorities about disruptive behavior. Just heard about it on the news. Wonder if this was used Saturday night.

I was there and I was one of those that got the tickets from a season ticket holder. My Dad and I were there and did not get up much. Because I am not a regular I can't say for sure that the crowd was any different, but we had a blast sitting in 110 row1!! Too bad all the scoring was in the otehr endzone. But a great night for football in the best stadium in the NFL! The text message alert system was announced several times at the game. I thought wow, that is cool, and should curb a lot of the idiots from acting out, but it is new, so the idiots will have to figure it out the hard way. I am sure this story ran and will run in conjunction with the new system to get the word out to fans before they come. Anything like this will raise the amount of arrests, because police will know where to be and where to watch as opposed to just covering an area blindly and generally. Good move by the Pack to make their games even more family friendly and enjoyable! |
