Hearing the camp reports, it seems like potential is abundant. If one of the young guys plays better than your fav, would you trade or prefer him to be a back up. From the following names who would you like to see traded or would accept being traded?
Hawk Kampman Pickett Harris Crosby Driver Wells Barnett
There are a few names on that list that I would never want to see out of Green and Gold, but as my wise 10yr old told me, "but if he went to the Saints Mom, he would play all the time."
I think the odds of us getting to the Superbowl this year are longer than I like, but I hope for guys like Driver and Woodson we do.

Yes I did. One of the reasons I haven't been convinced he doesn't is because while we have a lot of talent, we don't have anybody on offense that scares anybody talent wise (yet). But that is another thread.
One of the reasons why I posted this is because I keep hearing a couple of the same things from different reports and was wondering others' thoughts. I keep hearing how Chillar and Bishop are excelling! Kampman has been giving the run offense fits, but has got torched several times(this evening by Finley).
We have a couple of holes to fill and with FA and the draft done, trades are a way to do that.

The only two starters I think it would really make sense to trade are Harris and Lee. Harris because of the scheme change, which I think Tramon is an excellent fit for and Lee because Finely seems like he's beginning to come around in all areas of his game and maturity.
However, I don't think any of these will happen. We don't have enough depth at corner to sacrifice anyone there, except Bush. I would sacrifice him on a bloody altar given the chance. Lee is part of what might be a very solid 2-TE group if Finely shows some more this year.
I doubt there will be any starters traded. If anything, we'd see some deep backups traded for other deep backups and/or draft picks.

MAYBE Barnett, but only if the price were quite advantageous for the Pack. It appears as though Bishop is taking strides in this system and it may not be too big of a drop off.

I've heard that Chillar has been even more impressive. But I still believe Barnett can make a full recovery and will be given that opportunity. Besides, his value is at an all-time-low with him on the shelf.

I've said it before I think Barnett's days as a Packer are numbered. NB IMO has hit his ceiling.
I never thought he was big enough or fast enough to play MLB.
I do think the 3-4 will suit him as well as all our backers better(Since I consider our unit undersized, maybe they just play small).
I would be open to trading everyone except AR, Jennings and Woodson.

I dont think we should trade any starters. At this point in the season, the value we would get in return for harris, lee, or any veteran starter would not be enough to help this team.

I hate to think it, but if Kampman can't adjust, I could see him being traded late in training camp.

I believe we keep them all there is a lot of football to be played. There will be injuries and we need able backups.

For me, all starters are tradeable except Rodgers. The thing is, it has to be in some sort of context. If you're suggesting a starter for picks, then I say why bother. If you're suggesting a starting CB like Harris for say a proven DE or RB, then sure. I could also see a deal involving a LB, but again, it would depend on what it brings you. Right now, I like our depth at the LB position with the possibility of being pretty good, 2-deep, at each LB spot.
Kampy and Collins might be possible trades next year depending on how they perform and fit. They are both tag and trade possibilities. But that's next spring, not now.

I agree with George. Players can be traded to fill need. If you have someone waiting in the wings who can fill a spot, then pull the trigger on the trade, and gain help somewhere else where you need it.

"For me, all starters are tradeable except Rodgers."
and Jennings.
But looking at that list the only players that could be traded are Wells or even somebody unlisted like Poppinga. Harris contract makes him untradable, but if I had to trade him to a team it would be Tampa Bay sicne all they are going to be playing this year is man to man with very little zone which Harris excels completly at, get at least a fourth or fifth back for him.
