Here we go ...
* Medical guys: Haven't had staff meeting. Jenkins passed physical. Giacomini should be full-go but will keep eye on in individual work. Barnett will be on PUP after not passing physical. Everyone else passed physical.
* On Barnett: Definitely will be ready sometime in training camp. No clear timetable.
* Bigby is fine. Clifton: One-a-day schedule. Wells will be watched closely. Will reassess all players coming off injuries within three days or so.
* On Raji: No deal as of 2 p.m. Not following closely.
* Everyone else present? Yes. Just completed team meeting.
* On distractions, e.g. Favre: "Last year is an outstanding opportunity to look back on and learn from." Have addressed as team. Have to deal with distractions and keep moving forward.
* Evaluation of all changes on defense at this point? "We're hitting targets. That's what you do." Thinks Dom Capers has done great job getting staff on same page. Drastically different for players. Have jumped in, bought in. Lot of change in meetings, practice, volume, different pressures, etc. "Now we need to apply it in a padded environment."
* Trepidation about new positions on defense? "No. It's time to go." Extra time, one-on-one, etc., is key. "I think it's going to be great to watch this offense and this defense come out and challenge each other."
* Everything in? Yes, conceptually. May do variations upon further thought, etc.
* On camp: Reps, snaps during camp will be highest in four years, based on schedule. "Just got to stay healthy."
* On last year's struggles: "It gets me up every day. It still burns my gut, and they know about it. I'm sure they're sick of hearing about it. ... There are experiences you need to learn from, both positive and negative."
* More pressure on you? Doesn't think so. "I'm just excited I'm up here, 2009, ready to go."
* Expecting less injury situations than last year? "I don't think you can predict that." Try to schedule to minimize risk for fatigue injuries.
* On Aaron Rodgers: Has grown with teammates in locker room. "I see a young man that's still busting his butt, paying the extra time to the quarterback school." Has improved consistently. "You're definitely seeing his leadership."
* On backup QBs: Brian Brohm and Matt Flynn both fundamentally better. Better understanding of offense. Have put in the work during the offseason. "I think we'll see the dividends in training camp."
* Think will have more physical football team? That's always the goal. Bigger at line of scrimmage, bigger run defense in base. Think are a physical football team, but always want to be moreso.
* On where Raji will work: "Depends on when he gets here."
* Tipping point for number of practices can miss? Not in that mind-set. Lot of time to get a deal done before practice.
* Standard of performance higher because more mature football team? Yes, always trying to push standard higher regardless of past. "The biggest decisions we have to make in training camp is A, to pick our team" but also to be ready for the opener against Chicago.
* Team have much say in exhibition: Can request opponents. Also can request time, but not national games, as was opener last year. Never had seven days between preseason games, but do in first two weeks this year.
* Rest periods better? That's the design of the practice schedule. Same schedule used past two years.
* Satisfied with conditioning? Yes, positive feedback from Redding and Lovat. Coaches attended workout. "I think we're off to a good start." Had more of an issue in June with overtraining than anything.
* Convinced this team is better than 6-10? "Am I convinced? I'm a realist, but a very optimistic personality. ... Yes, we're better than 6-10."
* Win Super Bowl? That's the one goal in Green Bay.
