Interesting video. It really shows how much of a team game the NFL is. I hope this defense works, because man, we sure missed it last year. Also, its fun to watch the 07 highlights again!

While there is enough blame to go around for last year's record, I don't think we could have expected or gotten more out of Rodgers for his first year. We all knew, the Pack would take a step back; but the defense, what happened to them, allowed the record to plummet.
Like I said before I hope the offense just does what it did last year and the defense can go back to making plays. If so, we will have a fun year.

I specifically found the overtime situations discussed in the video interesting. I hadn't realized that Rodgers hadn't taken a snap in either loss. The Carolina, Houston, and Jacksonville games SHOULD have gone the Packers way.
The other two -- at Minnesota and Atlanta -- have a lot to do with Rodgers. Rodgers had some high points in the Falcons game, but he made an ill-advised throw, trying to make something happen, that was an easy pick for the Atlanta defense. The second Vikings game was just a poor game for him overall. Poor protection, hurried reads, and a lack of offensive cohesion. We were fortunate not to have been blown out in that game, and really, shouldn't have had the chance to miss the game winning field goal.
Rodgers manned a 6-10 team, period. I know this. BUT, it's promising to see that we weren't too far away from being an 11-win ball club last year. Bad breaks, some bad plays, some bad calls, and a few unfortunate bounces later and we know the rest.
Makes me believe we can be close to an 11-win team this year. I just hope we have more actual W's than almost W's come January. I see reason to believe!

The injuries did play a large role last year, but I liked how the video talked about many issues going on. I remember the start of the 07 season against the Eagles when we couldn't do a thing on offense but because of our D-line rotation we were in the game. Last year we lost big parts of our rotation and suffered.
I was really happy with Rodgers this year and hopes he gets some more help on the defensive side of the ball. It could make a huge difference.

GR8 video and more eye opening stats. Defense,Special teams,O-line,coaching calls seemed to cause the losses. Even a couple of coin tosses. It must have been agony for Rodgers to stand there and watch da bears and the titans just go down the field and win without a shot. Ive been high on Rodgers. But my only reservation is about his durability. Having Favr(I'll admit) may just have spoiled me. This short puts it in another crystal clear perspective and tends to show that Rodgers is worth the bucks and football takes a team effort. Those holding penalties at key times seemed to always happen. Outstanding short.
RANGERS LEAD THE WAY

The video is well done. Favre obviously had the leadership and experience to have to trust of his teammates, but it's clear that the defense was the difference between the two seasons. Another big point was the run game. The Packers run game steadily improved in 07, but in 08 the run game was consistently bad. That is a big handicap for a first year starter.

What more could you have wanted from Rodgers last year. Its for all intents and purposes his 1st year playing. The guy throws for 4,038 yds with 28 tds and a 93.8 QB rating. He is the best QB in the division right now and that includes Cutler and Favre. I think he will be a pro bowl QB this year. He will make any doubters out there forget about #4 and start screaming for #12.

Does anybody here remember the last QB whose team went 6-10 and put up comparable numbers to Rodgers.

It was an open question if there was a QB ever vet or rookie that put up same numbers as Rodgers but still there team went 6-10. Normally QBs that are on teams that go 6-10 normally don't have eye popping stats like Rodgers did. Sorry about not being more detailed Miracle.

This was very good and put together well. After the season I was in an argument with a cueless Bears fan about why the Pack ended up at 6-10. He wanted to believe that not having Favre was the reason. The more I looked at the stats (many shown in the video) the more I realized it was a defensive problem more than anything...Our defense gave up on average 5 more points per game than the year before...and gee we had like 6 or 7 games that we lost by 5 points or less. Pretty simple to figure out, besides all of the similarities in QB numbers as pointed out. Great point above about the running game...another HUGE factor.
The part I found most interesting and gives me the most hope for this year was Rodgers numbers in our losses. He was right on average and was still 2-1 TD to INT ratio, over 90 QB rating and over 60% completions. I think that is going to be the big difference between Favre and Rodgers. If A Rod can keep that up, he will exceed Favre's success. So many of Favre's career losses were self inflicted. Rodgers was not the sole reason for any of our losses in my opinion. Sure he had better games than others, but there was not one game I could remember where the defense shut a team down, but Aaron played like crap and gave it away...THAT IS GREAT IF IT KEEPS UP!! Now we just need this defense to catch on and kick a$$!!!
