Who will be the break out player this year and why and who will be the biggest flop for the Packers.

Breakout player is AJ Hawk. He finally has a line next to him and unprecedented talent surrounding him. He'll be allowed to do the things that he excels at, since he and Barnett complement each other very nicely.
Flop? Not much of a limb here, but Pat Lee. I don't think he'll be able to be an adequate dime back here - proving that we have no depth and future at the position. I do think that Tramon Williams will thrive if the D-Line performs.

Breakout: Hawk
Flop: Grant
That's my opinion.

Breakout: Aaron Rodgers. Not that he wasn't good last year, but we'll see early on how clutch he's become. I'll take Tramon Williams as my second star, too. I think he'll see a lot of action in zone situations and will excel when given the chance. I'll give my third nod to Brandon Jackson (see flop #2).
Flop: Atari Bigby. He might turn out to be a one-hit wonder -- literally. The Seattle playoff game might be his career highlight. I also think Ryan Grant will be replaced by Brandon Jackson during the first two months of the season. Both are in their third year within this offense and I think Jackson's matured mentally and physically and will challenge Grant during camp and will replace him for the second half of the season.

Breakout: Harrell, Finley and Q. Johnson. Flop: Raji, Matthews and Collins. Wow. Those are stiff calls to make. Especially the flops -- there's a lot invested in those flops. I certainly hope you're wrong, but stranger things have happened.

I really hope I'm wrong.
We need Raji to become a Pro-Bowl Caliber player.
It really wouldn't surprise me to see Harrell have a better year than Raji. Packers aren't expecting anything from Harrell. Packers are expecting Raji to be the player they thought Harrell was going to be. Set to fail if you ask me, like I said I hope I'm wrong.
How cool would it be if both Harrell, Raji were monsters this year?

I look for Jennings to have a huge year for the Packers and going onto the pro bowl where he shines over the other WR's. Defense Hawk will look like a new person in the 3-4 defense and also makes the pro bowl. As for a rookie I look for Matthews to have the best impact.
Harrell is my flop have not seen any sign of greatness from him and may never see it, just think he was a bad pick in the draft.

Miracle,
You brought up an important point, about Jackson replacing Grant. It's possible that Grant could end up #2 because Jackson has advanced far enough to outplay him.
We may be wrong in calling it a flop. It could be that Jackson improved that much. And that would be a great thing to have happen. Jackson is so darned quick! He can get outside and turn the corner.

Offense Brandon Jackson- only 23 years old and getting stronger HM Jermichael Finley Defense Jeremy Thompson- Athletically gifted HM Justin Harrel finally injury free and can get on the field Aaron Smith, I compare him to Tramon Williams athletic as hell but not the fastest and smartest but coaches have been impressed.
Underachievers
Offense Brian Brohm- He just isn't confident enough to be a QB HM Ryan Grant, he is Green Bays Chester Taylor but Brandon Jackson though is somebody with twice as much potential.
Defense
Nick Collins- Athletically gifted yes, smart not really if he holds out he will miss out on everything HM Al Harris due to age and having to learn to play zone after playing almost his entire career in man.
I was going to put BJ Raji on the list as an underachiever but since I have yet to see him on the field or in game time and how he does agianst competition I am unable to make a decision, remember it takes a couple of years for D Lineman to get adjusted to the NFL.

The problem is that Grant struck while the iron was hot -- and burning. I am one who believes Brett Favre got Grant his contract for Grant last summer (timing of the two incidents). Then, if Grant becomes the #2 back it's a big contract for a second stringer, and a lot to try and trade for anything.

Nice topic.
AJ Hawk seems destined to FINALLY have a breakout year.
However, Nick Collins might be a HUGE disappointment IF he holds out.
I hope that Grant, Raji & Matthews DO NOT disappoint this year, otherwise, the Packers might be in BIG trouble.
Also, I am curious to see how well Rodgers is able to perform IF the defense does an outstanding job.

Hmm...I hope GRANT has a breakout year, but I so totally agree he's probably going to flop :/. BJax is fun to watch, I hope he gets more opportunity (because he's clearly better, not because of injury)

Breakout: Rodgers,Nelson,Jennings and GRANT. Grants 100% and has more time in the zone blocking scheme and see big things for him. Flops: Harrell,Jackson. Rumors are Jacksonis coming into camp overweight and out of shape. stay tuned.
RANGERS LEAD THE WAY!
