Favre had surgery last month, and may be considering coming out of retirement.
Just something to add to the off-season soap opera.

Favre sure puts some of us in a tough spot. I appreciate all the positives he brought to the Pack over the years. Believe it or not, I also understand to a point his frustration with the organization. I think about how I would react if I were in his shoes and they told me that they were moving on. (we outsiders see the part where he didn't help matters at all with his indecision) I would feel as if my ability was in doubt and I would want to do everything to prove I still "had it".
As much as I do not approve of what he is doing, I think that he sees it as he has to prove something to himself. I think most of us have done something in our lives that not many agreed with, but we had to do it for ourselves. I only hope that he realizes soon that all of age and we can't always do what we did so well before age takes it toll.
That's my two cents, but the bottom line is nobody knows what Favre is thinking and what his intentions are, except Favre.

I agree "cc". We have no idea what Favre is thinking. I understand his frustration, but the timeline for everything last spring was such that bringing him back would have been tough. I think it might have happened had he said something earlier about returning - who knows.
I don't know what the surgery means. Maybe he had pain just playing golf or doing other things and so just wanted it done. Maybe he had the surgery just so he can throw again, but there is nothing settled in terms of a return with the Vikes. Maybe it's because a verbal deal has already been made with the Vikes. As long as he and Bus remain silent or feign ignorance, and do all their talking via second hand stuff sent to the media, we don't know what's going on, and I'm not about to speculate.

Favre WOULD NOT have surgery IF he were not planning on coming back. Time for the Packers to stock up on body bags, should Favre play for the Vikings.  |
