Let's make a list of the wines that we like to drink to see if there might be a wine one of us would like to try based on anothers nomination of it. Let's keep this under $25 a bottle:
Best Pino Grigio - Best Sauvignon Blanc - Best Chardonnay - Best Pinot Noir - Best Merlot - Best Cabernet Sauvignon - Best Chianti - Best Zinfandel -
There is your template, have at it. If you want to list two in a category, that's even better

Although I'm not a connoisseur of wines, I've had the opportunity of spending time in the NAPA valley tasting wines, and did so many tapas crawls in Spain, that I had a chance to taste/sample hundreds upon hundreds of wines, and I have to say that the best sauvignon I've had came from the NAPA valley years ago, and outside of that, the rest of the wines I've really liked were Spanish.
I found over the years that I don't like the sweetness of Italian or French wines.
