It has to be the only place in the world that someone can put up a listing for a car they want to sell, price it thousands of dollars over book value on one in mint condition, tell you that it has over 200,000 "highway miles" on it, and that it needs minor work, such as a new exhaust system, transmission, and you might want to have that radiator checked because it leaks, and fix the air conditioning system, because it's blown out. And...by the way... as they add at the end... the power windows don't work, and you have to leave enter and leave the car from the right side, because the left has been mangled in an accident. A "real deal" for the handyman!  |

Yeah there is a lot of B.S. on that site, but there are some good things. That is how I found my bike.

The problem is - you have to weed through the moronic posts to get to those that are legit.
Then there's the Chicago area, where the law enforcement agencies are suing Craig's list, because they've allowed blatant solicitation by prostitutes.
As good as the potential has been for Craig's list, it's turning into a cesspool as well.

I sold some garden rocks on craigslist for 30 bucks. YEAHHHHHHH!
My friend listed them for me, I said who would by these? Put em up, got offers the next day.

I sold used kitty litter on there once. Got about $100 a pound, I told me it was from the Clinton cat Socks.

I love Craigslist!
I sold my last car on it after running it in the paper for a month with zero response. Put it on Craigslist and got 8 calls within 24 hours with three of them telling me not to sell it io anyone else that they were buying it. I told everyone that the first guy to show up with the cash was walking with the car. Sold next day.
Granted it was a good deal, but not extraordinary. 2002 Saab 9-5 with around 100k on it. I think I sold it a year and a half ago. It was Labor Day weekend ad I had people lining up for that sucker!
