He did good, but I just hated how that movie looked and felt. Gotham looked like Las Vegas, and they made Jim Carrey look like a tool
Yes, they did change the ending in Watchmen. I am starting to think the people who didn't read the book are going to be a little confused during the movie, but thats why some of the changes were made. I guess we will see if it works.
The story line I believe you are referring to is the Black Freighter which is the comic inside a comic. It is a pirate comic (since those are popular in the book because after all they have real costumed avengers).
There are also sections before the chapters such as Hollis Mason's (The original Night Owl) biography "Under the Hood" where he talks about the minute men. That is the original group of heroes that preceded The Watchmen.
Both of these will end up on the DVD.
Like I have said you have to read the book. You will need to read it a couple of times to really appreciate everything that went into it.
