With Less then 1 hour in DC before the 2009 New Year, I have done the following:
Prayed. Watched Bachelor Party, starring Tom Hanks, earlier this afternoon. Watched Planet of the Apes, starring Charlton Heston, later in the day. Watched a few South Parks episodes after 9:00 PM. Currently, I am watching Animal House.
I have a pork roast with sour kraut in the oven, black eyed peas on the stove, a silver 'birth of Jesus' coin & JD in my hand. Woooooooooooo Hoooooooooooooo!!!
At midnight, I call the Wahoo and we take our traditional Happy New Years Day shot.
I wish everybody a very blessed and Happy New Years.

Last night we had BBQd sausage, a large salad with chicken strips, shrimp scampi, and a T-bone steak about 1 1/4" thick. Today it's shrimp cocktails, red cabbage (for wealth during 2009), turkey (breast only), red bean salad, mashed potatoes & gravy, brussels sprouts, candied yams, and cranberries. Also, a bottle of wine with the dinner.

Today is prime rib, shrimp coctails, garlic mashed potatoes and lots of college football! I'll also watch some high school hockey tonight on FSN North and the outdoor hockey game at Wrigley.

Today is FOOTBALL day.
Sooooo, our tradition has been little baby dogs cooked in a grape jelly & chili sauce mix, in a crock pot. In addition, we will have leftover pork roast & sour kraut (Germany's New Year good luck dish, after living in Germany for 3 1/2 years), black eye peas (USA-Southern New Year good luck dish), spinach salad, shrimp & cocktail sauce, all types of nuts, peppermint bark, pecan pie, Breyers ice creme, pumpkin spice egg nog & soda.

Spent New Years Eve with friends. The main meal consisted of shiskabob and salad. We went through plenty of wine. Watched Eagel Eye. Decent flick. I came home shortly after midnight and the movie. I was chilled. Took me until early this morning to warm up.
Today is being spent reading and napping. Nothing special to eat.
Can't get into football. Monk seems to be about the most that can hold my attention.
Hope everyone is having a great new year.
