We had one of the best Christmas in a long time this year. Last year we were able to spend tons of money on each other and the kids. The kids got quads, Jeff got a real expensive RC car, I got a new lift and wheels for my jeep. We received everything we asked for and more.
This year was a mess with the presents (no Christmas bonus, UPS shipping damages and online shopping cancellations and mis-sent items. I overcooked the prime-rib, Mom put way too much salt in the deviled eggs and none of the males liked the broccoli salad.
Today, my oldest just walked through and said this was the best Christmas ever. Jeff and I last night remarked pretty much the same thing. Even though in my head I know that Christmas is all about the birth and family, I guess this year just epitomized that.
Hope everyone had a fantastic holiday and received everything they wanted/needed.

You're right. We do place too much importance on the things that aren't important.
We often forget what Christmas really is.

I like broccoli salad
I fully intended to spend my Christmas at home alone... My sister had invited me over to her house on Christmas day,,, But I didn't want to be seen like the Brother (in-law) that has no were to go... The kids were going to be with their dad... So as usual I didn't get to see them at all during the holidays And with money being tight I wasn't able to afford many presents... So my plan was to go out for Chinese and watch movies... My sister came over on Christmas eve and I guess the Spirit of Christmas finally came to me and I asked if she still wanted me to come over for Christmas Day... She did and we had a wonderful time....
Then work called and said they needed me to come into work.. About two hours before I had to be there.... Well we had a snow fall which didn't amount to much but was blowing to beat all and you could barely see past the end of the car... Well taking a curve in the road a car from the other lane missed the turn and came right at me.... Thanks to my supreme driving skill I was able to avoid the head on but both of us went into the ditch..... To make a long story short... We finally got out.. But by then I had missed work (And the store locks us in).... So I went home... About 3am work called again and said someone didn't show at another place and would I go there... I did so I at least got 2 1/2 hours in... It was a good if not interesting day.

Glad to hear you're alright BN. Christmas at the Packerbap house was one of the best. My whole and extended family were here Christmas Eve. Weather cooperated so everyone could make it. I was too organized this year. Afraid something wouldn't work out but it did. I left for church at 11:15 and there were still a few people around who had gone to 3 PM services. Midnight mass was meaningful. Another opportunity to reflect on the real reason for the season. Christmas day was very quiet. Never got out of the PJ's. Again, the gift of having my family together is the best gift. I did receive a beautiful Whitehouse Christmas tree ornament from one of our members which I really love.

Well I gotta a cargo hauler that fits on the back of my blazer so when I go hunting I don't have to lift the deer up on the roof or put the cats in a box in the back.

My Christmas was garbage. Too much traffic, too much BS. My family made me feel extra special. It hit it's climax when I told my dad on the way home "the family be better off if I were dead". He gave no reply(made me feel better).
We finally got home, had a McDonald's Christmas dinner(they were still open. YAY!).
Watched the Lakers beat down the Celtics(Had to TIVO it).
After that all the other stuff that happened during the day didn't matter.
I got for gifts. CD case 2 PS3 DS3 controllers Slippers 4 pairs of underwear pack of wifebeaters pack of socks and 40$.
Yippy.
