I don't believe it but we had a snow day today. In less then 9 hours we had over a foot of snow. Thank goodness it's not the real wet and heavy stuff. I was out around 6:30 blowing part one. In a few minutes I'll go out and get rid of part 2. Then I'll wait for the plow to go through and complete round 3.
Tomorrow we're supposed to have another storm with about 7 inches.
It will be a white Christmas!

I've never shoveled snow before. Seems like it could be kinda fun, I like some manual labor.
I've only seen snow a hand full of times. We got a lot of rain recently, It was awesome(the sound of rain is very relaxing). Most rain I've seen in a few years(we usually get none).
Is snow that heavy? Compared to dirt/sand?

It depends on the type of snow. The wetter the snow the heavier and hardest to shovel. Light powder snow is a piece of cake. This snow was somewhat in the middle. I'm lucky that I have a snow blower because I blew early this morning when the storm was finished it wasn't bad.
Now I'm waiting for the plow to go through. It appears there's about 2 feet of snow in the street. That is not going to be fun to get out of the driveway. I might be able to flag down someone with a plow attached to the truck to take care of it. We'll see.
Sounds like tomorrow's snowfall should only be about 2 inches.
I wouldn't want to shovel and driveway full of sand or dirt!

Glad they found something to do! Maybe they walked. I still can't get down my street so no fish fry or malls for me at this point in time. Kids wanted school today because of Christmas parties.
The main streets were very good by noon. Side streets are still in bad shape.

Packerbap, please send some of that snow to DC. We have not had a good snow storm for a very long time.
BTW, what are your top five things that you like to do when you are snowed in?
For me, I would like to: 1- Drink JD 2- Help children build a snow man 3- Help neighbors dig out their cars and driveways 4- Watch a good movie 5- catch up on sleep

The plow came through around 9 PM. Took me about an hour to get rid of the snow the plow put in int. Only took me 20 minutes to blow out the driveway!
My snow day top 5 depends if it's pre or post Christmas. Yesterday I wrapped presents, frosted stollen, made two more batches of cookies, and took a nap.
I used to like to take bubble baths and drink wine but being a home owner those days are gone. Reading, watching movies, and sitting by a warm fire are now on the top of my list.
Tonight we're supposed to get another 3-5 inches and then it will turn bitter cold.
You can take as much of my snow as you want!

"You can take as much of my snow as you want!" I would like to request 20 feet of snow for the DC area. We have not had any true accumulation of snow for a very long time. Soooooo, I am asking for a very, very White Christmas, New Years and January-March. Besides, since the Packers are not going to the playoffs, I would rather be outdoors helping neighbors shovel snow. Sort of like my penance for the Packers poor record.

Hi stranger! Where have you been? I was in West Bend today. You have a little more snow than we do. You can send yours to Amoeba. The bypass between Hwy 33 and Paradise Drive was not a cool place to be about 12:30 this afternoon. I saw two cars go into the ditch. Roads were great by the time I got to Cabellas. Raked the roof this afternoon. Getting ready for more snow.

Those days are gone. Substitute blowing snow for bubbles and salting for wine.
Tonight it's just supposed to be cold. Right now it's -4; not sure about the wind chill.
I might do the bubble bath, wine, and a warm fire tonight.

DC could use some colder temps at the right time. For some strange reason, the temps are always much too high in the DC area whenever there is any precipitation. I wonder whether the hot air from Congress is causing the temps to be too high. Along with 20 feet of snow, please send your extremely cold air. 5-20 degree temps and a couple of feet of snow would be nice.

But yeah, it seems like the West Bend area has had a ton of snow... before all that rain this past weekend we were really running out of room to put it!
