What will you be eating for your big dinner? As for me one meal will be Prime rib and shrimp and on the other side of the family I will be having Ham and Turkey tis the season to and pounds. I will be in good shape after the Holidays round is a shape.

We're ham & turkey for both Thanksgiving and Christmas. On Christmas Eve, we do things like shrimp scampi, shrimp cocktails, and deep fried breaded mushrooms. New Years Eve is usually a nice steak. T-bone, or Porterhouse. Baked potato w/sour cream & chives, and later, near midnight, shrimp again. We like shrimp! New Years Day could be almost anything, but there's one thing we always like to have. Red Cabbage. Why? They say it will make you prosperous and healthy the entire year.

Christmas eve menu includes hot beef sandwiches, Christmas sausage, stollen, butter horns, and cookies. These items have been included since I was a child. My nieces and nephews requested pizza rolls and apples/carmel apple dip be included. That tradition began over 10 years ago.
This year the hot beef will be tenderloin sandwiches. A recipe one of my brothers has perfected. My other brother will be bringing his specialty German potato salad. A family recipe. My godson's family will be here. My godson will eat quite a bit of the above but his siblings won't. They probably eat spaghetti with cheese. No tomato sauce!
Christmas day is very changeable. My mom likes duck. I don't but will usually fix it for her. I'm sure I'll do the same this year.
New Year's eve is steak.

I like those ideas I'm seeing for different times, like Christmas Eve.
