We are looking at the worst economic outlook in decades.... People are losing jobs at a pace that not been seen in any of our lifetimes (except maybe TW ) Companies are closing their doors..... And the sports industry? They keep spending like money is no problem... CC Sabathia looks to get over $20 million per season.... LaBron James may be entertaining offers to play overseas because they can offer more money.... Think the NBA will let him go?...... Players want more money than ever.... But where is that money going to come from? Sponsors are losing money... Think they will keep putting out money to get their name on a stadium? The auto industry is fighting for their life.. Think they can continue to support auto racing? People are losing their homes and kids are going hungry.... Think they will continue to dole out money for tickets and jerseys? How about those pay per views? How long before this economic downturn (Free fall?) affects the world of sports? I have read the Bud Selig(?) has warned owners to keep the economy in mind when offering contracts> Think they will listen? Will players and agents keep in mind the condition of Joe Sports Fan when requesting that bigger contract? I cannot wait to see the day when many of these teams come to congress wanting a bail out.....

We're going to see rollbacks in wages in pro sports.
I don't think the NFL is going to give the NFLPA a contract they'll like to look at, because of the fear they have with the economy.
It's going to hit every sport, and corporate sponsors are going to start to abandon the advertising for stadiums, and individuals as well.
NASCAR sees it already, and the teams are being cut to the bone.
