news.yahoo.com/s/ap/oj_simpson LAS VEGAS – A broken O.J. Simpson was sentenced Friday to as many as 33 years in prison for a hotel armed robbery after a judge rejected his apology and said, "It was much more than stupidity." The 61-year-old football Hall of Famer stood shackled and stone-faced as Judge Jackie Glass rattled off the punishment. Moments before, Simpson made a rambling, five-minute plea for leniency, simultaneously apologizing for the holdup as a foolish mistake and trying to justify his actions.
He choked back tears as he told her: "I didn't want to steal anything from anyone. ... I'm sorry, sorry."I doubt he serves that much, but isn't karma a pregnant dog lol ;D ;D ;D ;D I was in 5th grade during his murder trial, and I remember we were going to be at lunch during his sentencing, and my friend Armin and I were hell bound on there was no way he would be not guilty. We were pretty shocked. I was young, but my aunt and uncle were in town for that summer, and we had to watch the trial allllllllllll the time. It sucked. That trial was pretty much one of the daggers in ending real news, and making it more of a "reality" TV show, and America ate it up. Good to see the bastard finally behind bars.

I was of the opposite view back then and I'm right around your age. I too was in 5th grade when the verdict came in. half of us cheered, and half didn't. Given that he was later found liable and was ordered to pay 33.5 million, it uis quiote probable that he disd in fact commit those crimes. But since you cannot re-try on the same charge, he is forever cleared in the eyes of the law for those murders. This robbery conviction is a whole other ball of wax.

5th grade? I feel so old. Glad Oj will finally be where he belongs. Just sad that it took so long and he has been free for the past years.

I, too, feel he is guilty as well of those murders, but the Prosecutors in that case were a bunch of clowns. They proved OJ could have done it, but they never proved he did do it in my eyes.
He is where he needs to be. He is a strange, strange man.

I remember something I heard years ago.
Revenge is a dish best served cold.
We like to take credit for that little statement. We can't. It's a phrase that the British picked up from the Afghans long ago, and has since been used in our language quite often.

I worked a convention of Homicide Detectives 4 - 5 years ago and the guest speaker was Dr. Henry Lee who was the defense's expert in forensic investigation that helped get OJ off....
He spoke for over 3 hours and it was split into 2 section with a luncheon between the two sections.... During the break he was over by my sound board and was talking to a few of the Detectives and the question came up if he believed that OJ was really innocent.... He paused and his comment was that if he were on the prosecution team.... OJ would be toast.

I still believe that LA intentionally tanked the case to protect the city from riots.
The two morons they had as prosecutors should have told everyone something.
