It was always a part of the Packers. Creativity. They used a feel for school ground football to move the ball, and on defense, they flew around as if they didn't know what they were doing, and were called "ball hawks," because they did. It worked. It may have looked like they were out of control, and unable to run fundamental football plays on both sides of the ball, but that wasn't the case. What was actually happening was brilliant on the part of the players, and smart on the part of the coaches, because they allowed them more latitude.
They did those things against the Lions, and it worked. Most of the big plays on offense were on broken, or ad lib plays created by need, with the right personnel package on the field to make it work. On defense, this ball hawk mentality kept the Lions from doing enough that it ended up a Packer win. That, despite the injuries that happened on defense.
Now, the question that is still out there, can the Packers keep the run going? Let's see the injury report before we say too much.

as of now we do not have enough DBs, to play the nickel,or dime defense, Hyde is playing DB and he is a safety. three players went down last night, Rollins, Randall,Gunter(short time)and the street agent i forget his name or spelling delorent? Brice, Hyde and Gunter are it right now. i think. Plus we have Bulaga hurt, Spriggs hurt, Leaving just Barclay to come in, I wonder if they try to activate Tretter to fill in? have to wait to see who gets healthy in a week.

Hopefully they can get Tretter on the field. As far as the DBs are concerned, we are going to have to hear the injury report to see what happens. I do know that anyone who can't get back in time to help them is history for the rest of the season. IR is going to fill up this week.

It was very interesting watching the MM show Sunday morning. He broke down some of the tape of the Viking game from the week before. I've been very critical of him this year, but he clearly had a great plan for the offense and outcoached the Viking staff. I'm still not a fan of Capers, but MM has done a nice job turning things around this year.

Thank goodness for Burnett, he is a very solid player, He has this year been asked to play inside db and also as our lber and to play the SS spot and shorten up and help with the run. when all we had for a lot of this last game was Gunter, Hyde and Burnett as Db,s with Ha-Ha at safety that is thin.
