3 Packers have been selected to the Pro Bowl this year. QB rodgers is making his 6th appearance, guard T J Lng and S Ha Ha Clinton-Dix are making thier first. Wr Jordy Nelson is a first alternate at WR, and given how often folks decline to show, its likely he'll get a nod.

It's interesting that Rodgers is in the mix for an MVP but not a pro bowl bid. That tells me that they hype about MVP is simply that. All talk.
I was a bit surprised at the selections made, but then again, it has nothing to do with reality, so making it doesn't matter.

Do you think the pro bowl is a money maker for the NFL? I'm surprised they don't just get rid of it. Such a waste of time. They must be making money or they wouldn't do it.

i think it has outlived its usefulness. when it was started, players didnt make nearly the money they do now, so a trip to hawaii was always cool. but among the 4 major sports, the NFL's all star game is the most meaningless, as its done at the end of the season, not in the middle of it , as is the case with Hockey, Basketball and Baseball. perhaps move it up to the middle of the season?

NFL teams would never allow their players to be part of an all star game during the season, under any circumstances. It's not an injury risk factor they would be willing to take. I understand that totally, because the guys who played in the game would be the premiere players in the league, and an injury or two could completely change the whole balance of the league.
It's a game that should be shut down, permanently. Not worth having.
