seems like he is not going to play for the Jets, they offered him 3 years,,36 million with 15 million guarnanteed first year 12 million and the other 3 last two years. he is a solid QB, but not a top ten QB i do not think, he wants more money, they really have no other QB on the roster even close to him.But why must players insist on such huge amounts because thers get it? I mean the Jets with him are a pretty decent offense the defense has improved the dive they have a shot at the div or at least the wild card. but money first, I thought layers played for the le of the game and winning? mean a little less money is better than goi a losing team and a shot at more injury just due to a poorer line maybe? or tougher div. you get what i am thinking, i think he is crazy not to take that money, his players seem to like him also. poh well NFL.

They've got problems. Fitz is looking for guarantees, not there in that contract.

I know one thing this season he is the very best QB on the Jets roster!

He's developed over the years. But, I think he believes he's going to be pushed aside for Geno Smith, and Hackenberg being the future, in about 3 years. I understand his frustration. He paid his dues with lousy money, now he wants a decent payday, because his stats were that good. 3,905 yards, 31 TD, 15 INT, 88.0 QB rating. All at least middle of the road, but the HC has been sold on Geno Smith since day one.
To Fitz, the whole thing is probably about perception, and being cut without a nickel guaranteed. He's rolling the dice, like he should. The Jets just turned down his one year $12 mill offer. I guess they are happy with Geno. Good for them, if it works. But, they seem to be an "also ran" way too often to believe they know what they're really doing.

he had a career year, if you look at his long tenure . he is an ave QB. but still i agree it is a lot about his status que image. But if i was playing in his spot what the Jets offered was the first time a three year deal, with incentives and they front loaded the deal with a first year sum in double figures and paying him like one of the top 10 in the league. He should have taken that. i have no feelings for a player making MILLIONS of dollars in a year who might not play another year in the NFL or if he does will not get a double figure pay day but a reasonable 5 -7 million a year for a player who had one good year and 10 ave at best years. I think any team taking him would wonder just how much he has remaining at his over 30 age And will he play like last year? or will he go back to playing like he did for the other decade of so? I like the guy . but i am speaking like the owners would He seems to have many players liking him. Plus like I said earlier.. i think he is ten times better than Geno Smith and Hackenburg as a rookie really needs a few years to see if he can play in the NFL. He took a shot and as of now seems that the jets are ready to let him go if he does not take there offer of 12 million in a one year deal.

Interesting situation. I wonder if he'll hold out and go to someone who has a QB go down, or look horrible, in preseason.

Now it seems like the HC is putting Fitzpatrick ahead of both other QB's, he even went as far as to say, way ahead right now and that he is his starter for the season.

He's their starter only if he decides to sign with the Jets. But, in all honesty, I don't trust their head coach one bit. I have a hunch he's going to give Gino Smith the ball if at all possible. I just get that impression from all the things he's said in the past. Just because he's waffling on some of it in the press doesn't mean much to me. It's all based on his perception, and in a week, maybe a month, he can "change his mind."
I think Fitz moves on if there isn't big time guaranteed money on the board for all three years.
