with contracts coming up for lots of linemen, and with the thought of players getting older and with injury history.(like Bulaga) The Packers drafted the likes of LT Spriggs,Murphy, with Tretter in the wings. What could happen is seeing some contracts not signed and a new line . could we see the likes of this starting line?
Spriggs-Tretter-Linsley-Sitton-Murphy ?? That would safe money, keep them young, and maybe be able to play more games together as a unit with less injury.

Also remember that the Packers have Rotherman on the Practice squad , he is in his second year and shows a lot of upside. At 6'5' 323 lbs he will be fighting to get on the roster of 54 this year. great man to have as a backup if he makes the much thought of second year jump improvement. Plus this guy wanted to play center as well as guard either side at guard. I think he has a solid shot at that and then one of the rookies will go to the practice Squad. like maybe Murphy. this is the best group of offensive linemen i have seen for the last ten years, the starters and possible back-ups look good, PLUS, these guys are all BIGGER (TT and MM wanted the bigger player at around 6'5 or more and they now got them) I know it is early, but i am getting excited about this years team. stay healthy and look out! this could be the year to the SB. And what adds to the kettle is the Packers have the second easiest schedule this year. Rodgers needs another SB!!

T.J. Lamg lost 20 lbs to become a better lineman this season! wow, i love this offensive players o n what the vets are doing, tells me two things, they know they need to work harder as they age, and this years draft picks are better than the past 5 years of picks. This is going to be a big run to the S,B!!

It sure sounds like the players are showing up in great shape for the OTA's this year. I hope it's a good sign of things to come. Let's hope the OLine is vastly improved and can protect Rodgers and give him some time. Without him, we aren't going anywhere!

you are correct, and TT has seen that the past few years offensive and defensive linemen have gotten much taller and bigger, He always liked his guys he said around 6'2 300 lbs or so he now sees that thewy are 6'4" and 320's he needed to get bigger and he did! they are just getting bigger and have the speed and quickness going at the larger bodies now. leverage is great, but with these bigger guys and longer arms along with the ability to bend and be just as quick and strong as the slightly smaller guys they now have an advantage. I really like the players he has brought together and hope they pan out once the season starts, if so we could have the best starting five and the best backups in the NFL that is good for Starks and lacy too! also on the other side, the job of the Lbers will be made easier if they can get the outside pass rush and the inside run stoppers oh i am ready to play right now!

I thought about Lang's change in body. I believe a lot of it is due to it being a contract year for him. He wants to be in a condition where he can play anywhere in the league, and to do that, he had to trim out.
At the same time, I think the Packers should have been more cognizant of their players weight and body structure than they have been. The bit with Lacy should have shown there was a problem.

ya, your right on, Didn't the Packers go through something like 5 physical trainers in the last 8 years?

Quite a few, I know that. I'm not certain what McCarthy wanted from them, but after the year was over, he didn't like it. I guess they were his bi-yearly excuses for poor conditioning.
Suggestion. Figure out what you want in your athletes and commit them to that program.
