I wrote about J Kuhn just after last season, i feel now as of then that if the Packers think Rip is learned enough on ST and at the FUllback slot ,then Kuhn will get the chance to retire or will be let go this season. Time is running out for J,K,

The Packers have already moved on without Kuhn. What ticks me off is that they've not directly commented on it, but have indicated that having a FB in the league is a luxury. Yet, they had two last year?
Ripkowski is not a better asset than Kuhn, and probably never will be. Not on STs or anywhere else. I think Kuhn has two more years left in the tank, and the Packers are spending too much for Ripkowski, compared to Kuhn.
But, it's a business, and that's what counts.

I agree that Khun has more time left in him, he knows the line calls and he knows and has helped A. Rodgers with calls and his excellent blocking to protect Rodgers/ I was hoping they let Khun retire on his own accord. Fullbacks are being replaced by the TE more each year. They had the two guys together a lot to teach Rip. The way it should be done and Both were good St's players, Rip was actually a monster on the teams, I think you got the name wrong, with the pay scale, Khun makes much more than Rip the Rookie contract right now. with 2 more years at the lower pay with a 5th year option. I see what your thinking and agree with you,,except the price is skewed and remember Rip is a CLONE of khun size wise,(both are red hair and beard too)and much younger, it was a matter of time, but again i wish KHUN could have stayed for one or two more years to get him a S.B ring .

I think dumping him is a mistake. He's the only guy I've seen on the team who will make key blocks to insure Rodgers can make those extra special plays that have won games. Letting him go is like saying that don't matter, the only thing that counts is youth.
Somewhere along the line, there needs to be a little loyalty from the team to the players who have made things happen over the years. It's like Holmgren believed. If you were doing your job, and got hurt, when you came back, the fact you had it, rehabbed to get back in shape, and you get a shot at keeping the job, not just discarded to a back up role. I'm afraid McC doesn't see things that way. He "moves on," and loyalties aren't important.
