just read they got 16" of rain in 24 hours! this planet is getting some big time out of the normal weather this year. I feel that it has some to do with the cycle of the earth, but i also feel that Global warming is doing some damage as well. Islands are going under, more earth quakes, volcano, everything is just adding up and causing a lot of loss. Maybe that is one reason some countries are upgrading and spending more money now on space travel and i read that the USA wants to get to Mars in the next two years to establish a post and grow potato's and store water on the planet. I bet the extreame weathly already got tickets!!!") what do you think? time speeding up on this planet maybe?

In two hundred years, the world will be feeling the real effects of global warming and excesses in pulling oil out of the ground.
As far as colonization of other planets, I don't see that happening, because everything would have to be done inside a domed existence, and people, like all animals, have to have a degree of freedom.
It's sad that mankind is rushing to this judgement by not being willing to admit that greed is killing this planet.

I have read many predicting a big change by as early as 2030. As far as moving to another planet . I really feel that is going to happen. First they need to get there and stay for a short while, next and as this is building up to happen, they will try to find ways of making water and atmosphere, which as of today they have some solid ideas, and they feel they can be used on a planet. what is holding them back from settling right now is cost, and mostly TIME, it still takes to long to get anywhere, They also feel they now have a way to increase the time travel, or decrease the time it takes and could be using it in a year or two with these tiny nano ships, they are about the size of a cell phone chip. and much lighter they need to figure out how to increase the propulsion with bigger ships. coming soon, on your favorite station!.

A world of people incapable of creating non-fossil fuels to protect the existence of our planet aren't really capable of realizing the importance of creating an artificial environment where they can live.
We're too into "what's in it for me now?", to actually create life on another planet that will be sustained.
Like I said, the entire existence somewhere else, in a planet closer or further from the sun or any other source of light/heat, is going to be in controlled domed application. One earthquake could end it all, as well as one meteor storm hitting any point in the domed structure.
Of course, the time may come where it could happen. I'm not so skeptical as to say it's impossible. I just think we'll kill ourselves off with greed long before we find the where with all to make that happen.

I think this planet is doomed for a human extinction phase, meaning a great flood, or freeze,blocked sun light, or something that will wipe out almost everything on the Earth, that is why i think the people will be pushing harder to try and find another place to live.I am not concerned ,for i have to few years remaining to feel the results anyway.

Something to think about. If they could come up with a plan to inhabit another planet, presently unable to sustain life, why wouldn't they use the same technology to create safe living environments on this planet, then work towards reversing the effects of what's happened? It seems to me that changing the course of human extinction on this planet would be easier than trying to create a delicate balance between an unfriendly/hostile environment to accommodate us on a limited basis.
Just my thought.

I agree, but you forgetting why this planet is where it is at right now, Not only its normal evolution, but the Human race is speeding it up and causing the problem. there will not be enough that are willing to conform, that is why i see people trying to move on and off this planet of which they are killing or at the least changing so much it will be tough to let a human live her. Plus, who is to say that the greedy, evil will not just start a nuclear disaster?
