Looks like the Packers got a one year deal with the TE Cook, He is 6'5" 255 lbs, and runs a fast 40.(4,55 i think it is) I like the signing , we needed a big TE that can run the seem routes or slats. the new rules makes it easier if you got a big TE in the middle, that is what the NFLK has done opened the middle more for the Pass game.

Cook was a good choice. It saves us having to reach for a TE fairly early in the draft. If you can't find better, spend the money on him. I'd bet his contract is full of incentives with a fairly small base. That works well two ways for the Packers. If he doesn't perform to a high standard, he gets paid minimally, but if he performs high, he gets a big chunk of money. Right now, we need someone who will work to get that money, and it will help Richard Rodgers game as well. I don't object to this signing. sports.yahoo.com/news/packers-dip-free-agency-sign-te-jared-cook-192703044--nfl.html

The more I look at this guy, the more I like him. Having the huge target across the middle could really open things up for us. I also like that he can line up anywhere.

If he plays as well as his potential seems, he could be resigned for a couple more years during the season. I see that as a strong possibility if he plays like he can. He's quick, has good hands, and is big and strong. Also, very athletic. Great for making those really tough catches. I can hardly wait to see how he develops in the preseason. It may be our most significant change from last year before we're through.
