Panthers. I haven't got a clue on the score, but I do know both teams defenses are capable of strangling their opposition.

I am looking at it in Denver has a place kicker who really has NOT done well, over 40 yard kicks he is horrible with (he was 7 of 7 in playoffs though) run game against the Panthers they are in the top against the run. Can Manning pass to win if the run gets slowed? Remember the panthers are a top 3 against the pass, and i do believe the best in interceptions. That is my reason for picking the Panthers well part of it. I must admit, I feel another blow-out against the broncos, but just cannot get a score to call, thus my 9 point win by the team. Never know though a very good defense with good coaching can make a winner of any team in one game. I think it will play close early and the 4th quarter will show the better team . should be fun to watch though! Not As fun if it were the packers in the SB of course.

I saw one analyst say that it may be the most boring Super Bowl anyone has ever seen. They expect one of the lowest TV ratings ever, because of Newton's antics.
I, for one, don't care what he does, because I know the day will come where someone on the opposing team, is going to aim at the side of one of his knees intent on putting him on an operating table. You don't "over celebrate" like he does, and not expect to get payback in the future.
I probably won't even watch the game to be honest. If it's nice out, I'll hit the pool, take a golf cart ride, and we might even enjoy a wine party with friends who don't care to watch it either.

For a few days now there's been a guy in work trying to convince me to take Denver straight up with no points. I told him he's nutso and I'd only take the bet if he gave me 6 points. Sooo, I got Denver + 6 points. $20 on the line.
I like that #1 defense, and especially the Demarcus Ware AND Von Miller combination. That's like having 2 Clay Mathews on one team.

Agreed on the bet. I wouldn't have done it even up either. At 6 pts, it looks like a fair bet.
The issue will be decided by Denver's defense. They are capable of playing well enough to keep almost any team below 17 points. If they get to Newton early, and often enough, he'll start throwing early, and that will turn the tide towards the Broncos.
On the other hand, if Manning plays ball control football, and they don't turn it over, but Carolina does, it could be an upset with the Broncos taking home the prize.
Agreed on their two linebackers. Our combo of Matthews & Peppers is nearly as good, but just a small notch behind them.

A lot of guys I spoke to this week feel the game will be a Carolina blow out. Denver just isn't getting much respect, and they're a pretty good under dog.

I think the Panthers win in a blowout. I'm pulling for the Broncos though. I'd like to see Manning get another ring as he retires. This has to be his last game.

I would hate to see Manning win a ring if he does not play well. He has no arm remaining, he would be relying on the run game and the defense to get the ring. I have watched to many good QBs over the years who should have had a ring and lost because the rest of the team was not as good(meaning he carried them) or a great defense and ST's won it. I know it is a team game and ANY player can have a poor game. But that is not what i am thinking, I have watched Manning throw 9 tds, and 17 ints, fumble and lose the ball 7 tomes out of 9 cannot run for 3 yards to get a first down, etc. I do not want manning (if he plays as i think he will) win with such a shell of a QB he was. If he has a last hurrah,, fine but if he plays like he has the last 18 games i do not think he earned the right to a ring. just my 2 cents worth. I do think the Panthers are an all-round better team and one of destiny. But mark my words whoever wins i will say more than likely had earned it. I hope the game is entertaining and not a blow-out either way.

One reporter indicated that the Broncos will be lucky to escape with as bad of a drubbing as the Cards got. The idea, he said, was because of the similarities in defenses between Arizona and Denver. Right? Wrong? I don't know. I guess we'll all know the answer tomorrow night.

It's easy to say it now that the game hasn't been played, but 2 blow-outs in a row for Carolina. They've shown that they can get ahead but tend to let leads slip away late in the game. Go Denver....

I'm rooting for Denver too. At one point, I was rooting for Carolina. I just don't like the smug attitude, but I do like how they give the ball to kids in the stands, when they score. That's even better than the Packers Lambeau Leap to be honest. But, both are done to honor the fans.
As I said earlier, I haven't got a clue as to how much of a spread there will be in this game. I don't know if anyone has truly figured it out.

Vegas is right around 6 points depends what part of the day you look so far. I will stink with my 9 plus and the Panthers. Manning is in his 4th Super Bowl and has only won one of the three. He has struggled in the big game.
