A friend of ours down here in Texas lost her sister two days ago to an auto accident. She was driving down a road in Minnesota, when she stopped behind a school bus that was either loading or unloading kids. A guy in a pick-up truck slammed into the rear of her car so hard that it drove the car under the school bus, all the way to the seat. She was crushed.
They say the weather conditions were fine. No limited visibility. I'd be willing to bet the person behind the wheel of the pick-up truck was too busy with his phone to pay attention to the road.
What a horrible waste of human life.

It's a huge problem. I see people all the time texting and driving. I can't honestly say I've never done it. Something comes through for work and I get sucked in. It's stupid no matter how you look at it. There is nothing more important than paying attention to the road. Very sad and a total waste!

I put my phone in the glove compartment so I can't even get to it. I can get it out when I arrive where I want to be. I don't even want blue tooth for my car. I don't like the distraction of even a phone call while I'm driving.
Years ago we were rear ended while waiting to turn left by a woman who was busy talking on her phone. I still suffer soreness in my neck at times as a result of the accident.

Someday when I retire I am going to dump my smart phone. I hate being this connected to everybody and everything 24/7. I might keep a cell phone for emergencies but I don't care to be this connected all the time. I miss the old days!

cell phones are one of the worst things ever invented. I witnessed an accident where one girl was on the cell hit a car head on by crossing over the yellow lines. and then the girl who was using the cell got out of the car almost untouched and used her phone to take photos of the other car driver and said to the cops that she was eating and hit her, to bad the cops looked over the scene of the accident and proved that the cell driver was in the on coming lane of traffic when they hit head on. she just did not realize it because she was on the phone all the time. all three of us that saw the thing said the same thing to the police. They use it to post people near a home that they wish to rob and use the cell as a fast way to warn of anybody that could foil there crime. so many things to do with this thing for all the wrong reasons. Yes i realize there are good things that the cell is used for. but what out weighs the most? cells phones are as bad and worse than the wrong person who has a gun.
