These insights come from the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
I couldn't agree more. I think Jones hit it on the head. They weren't ready to play winning football. The worst part about it is that there seems to be too many guys who don't take their careers seriously enough to make an impact on the field. Losing to an inferior team twice, in 12 days? Come on! That's poor coaching - period!
At this point, we could see the Packers slip to 8-8 or 9-7 at best, and end up watching everyone else come play off time. In all honesty, the way they are playing, that's what this team deserves.
What makes me mad is the fact that this team has been failing miserably on the national stage. Winning games when it's a national game is what promotes gear sales, and support for a team. I'm watching that slowly eroded due to lousy coaching.
The worst part about this whole mess is that the only coaches that seem to get it are the defensive coaches, and we know that Capers is a weak link.
Twice in the span of 12 days the Packers couldn't defeat a losing team from the NFC North at Lambeau Field. That was the sorry state of the Packers' affairs late Thursday night after they failed to score a point in the second half and went down hard to the Bears, 17-13.
Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy insisted that his offense isn't broken, but if you were to gather all the jagged-edge failures and scattered pieces of dysfunction that made up a one-touchdown Thanksgiving night then you'd be hard-pressed to come up with any other conclusion.
But pomp, circumstance and a game against their oldest rival did not prevent the Packers from coming out flat, according to Datone Jones, who spoke earnestly while almost all of his teammates remained guarded.
