I remember it well. I stood up for him, and indicated that part of his problems stemmed from having various holders over a short span of time. It threw his rhythm off, and ergo.... he had some bad kicks.
Well, he did scuff one a couple of weeks ago, but this past ?Sunday he was 5 for 5 from 40 yards or more. A new NFL record.
I think their patience worked in their favor.

Not to disagree , but Stats are easy to help ones opinion. Lets just say that I am very happy Crosby was HOT enough to make 5 for 5 yards.(just to be clear, he has a strong leg) 40 plus yards is most kickers completion % is over 86%. anyway. the thing about Crosby, with that big leg, first he is not consistent, secondly, he has had trouble from day one to now kicking to a placement. he has kick many a ball out of bounds and get flagged for it he has not been able to kick the ball into the end zone for no returns as much as the leading kickers do in the NFL. third his lifetime % for field goals is still under the ave for NFL place kickers(active) he is not elite. like many want him to be and with his big foot SHOULD be. Now with all that said, this team could be worse off without him. You see, I like him, he tries all the time, he is a good solid teammate, he can tackle decent when he is the last man on returns. he is streaky yet,he can kick the onside kick well. so overall i am content with him. but he is not the top 5 kicker in the league, i would even now hesitate to put him top 10. But again, he is a all around good kicker, just not playing up to his hype.

Crosby is 46th in FG percentage in the history of the league. Back a few years ago I posted stats that showed where kicking in GB was more difficult than any other venue in the NFL. Yet, at that point in time, and I'd guess through now, the Packers kickers had a better percentage than the opposition playing in GB.
Still, Crosby being 46th in history isn't all that bad, considering the total number of kickers that have gone through the NFL throughout history. And, if it continues like it has, he could move up several spots before the end of this year.
