I believe this team has lost a lot of confidence and I predict the Lions will break the winless streak at Lambeau this year when it's least expected. I have a feeling the Packers will look past this game to the Vikings and will lose.
I think Stafford will have a huge day and the Packers defense gives up lots of big plays again.
Lions 27 Packers 24

I get your logic. I am going to go the other way. I think coming home to the loud crowd and The lions not having a good run defense will propel the Packers past the lions by a score of,,,,, Packers 31 Lions 17 that my plan and I am sticking to it.

AS bad a situation as the Packers are in, the Lions situation may be worse. Its not only a lack of confidence, it's reached a point where they quite honestly are "quitting" on the field. That, in my opinion, is going to cost their coaching staff their jobs in the end. They simply haven't got a clue as to how to right the ship. Caldwell is trying to steer a rudderless ship at this point.
Let's face it. If you fire the front office, you're not far from firing the coaching staff. New front office executives aren't going to inherit "the other guy's coaches." They make changes after the season is over, and a lot of guys are going to find themselves traded, or dumped unceremoniously through cuts.
The Packers, on the other hand, still have a season they can salvage to a point, with a couple of wins over the next two weeks. I think that's their motivation, and even if McC doesn't know how to handle it, the players will. Watch for more playground football, and the coaches keeping their mouths shut about it, because it's winning football, like it or not.
My prediction:
Packers 34 Lions 24

they have to win big at home against Detroit. that will make the Vikings dig deep into the scheme to prepare for us. If we loss this game, no way do we beat the Vikings. got to win big, make them feel the last loss was just a slump, and then we got a shot. if not we lose our fourth in a row.

Outcoached by a guy named Jim Bob. I never would have thunk it!
I remember Ditka, when his team was 5-2, being interviewed about his Bears, and he said they'd be lucky to win another game all year. They didn't. He got fired.
It wasn't the kind of day you deliver to honor someone like Ron Wolf. He should slap McCarthy and his coordinators in the face for the disgrace they laid out for him.

I have lost all confidence in this team. I also have zero faith that this coaching staff is even capable of getting this ship turned around in the right direction. Watch for Minnesota to blow us out next week.

Some people say it will be different if McCarthy calls the plays. It's not the individual play that's killing us, it's the routes on plays, and the genius decisions on how the plays should be run that's killing us.
Of course, the old thing... execution. That's the biggest cop out for poor coaching that I've ever heard. If Thompson is going to right this ship, he needs to put this staff on notice that they are under achieving as coaches, which is showing on the field.
Now I'll wait patiently for the McC lovers to show up and rant about how the players didn't do it right. Argggghhhhh!

you know what really irks me this season so far? Last game as an example, Rodgers tossed the ball over 20 times to Adams, He never even caught 50 % of the throws. He should be benched he has hands of stone for certain. If Janis got just ten of them he would have come through and he would then make people forget all about Adams and Abbs, The best thing they could do is at the least give the guy a fair shot. I never seen a player outplay his receivers in two years of Preseason games and when he is called to perform his stats out play every receiver on the team. He just does not have the snaps to proof himself He is outstanding ST gunner, he runs solid routes and his speed alone would open up the inside slants and the outside behind the back toss. he could really help the offense if only given a shot. a fair shot. Like Adams got, 20 plus passes and the man blew it. he was not even able to time the jump pass( and they showed he has leaping ability) but what good is it if you cannot time it right? then to many times in the last two seasons I have watched him drop way to many easy catches. If they do not make some BIG changes in the play calling and the starters, you can bet the Vikes at there house will stamp out the PACKERS this weekend.

To be honest, I don't understand why the Packers coaching staff took Jones away as a primary option. He did well, then suddenly, he was no longer a target. Add to this the fact that Abbs can make plays, if they give him a chance, yet, until the game was pretty mcuh lost due to bad coaching, they put Abbs in, and target him, and he comes through.
I didn't say Abbs was good as a "homer." I said he was good, and ran good routes, because of what I have seen him do at Wisconsin. He can be the perfect book end to Nelson next year. The two of them can hang onto a football, and using #18 in the slot, you have possibly the top 3 in the NFL. Adams would make a good replacement for injury, and would also fit in great in the 4 wide out sets. But, using Abbs is essential to the success of this team right now. He has the hands, and was very instrumental in that last drive that put up 6. Had that end zone pass been to him in the same spot, I'd pretty much believe it would have been a completion for 2 points and a tie, which we could have won in OT.
I'd bet the coaching staff will use Abbs more against the Vikings. The guy can catch a football. I was scared to death we were going to lose him to someone else, off the practice squad. He reminds me of Raymond Berry, who when he got his hands on the football, wouldn't give it up.
As far as coaching, it is apparent that the Packers staff is lacking, mostly on offense. I think it has to change soon, or we're looking at a lot of new coaches next year. Maybe McC and Thompson are too loyal to coaches that have outlived their usefulness on the sidelines in Green Bay. Hard to say, but I hate where we're going this year. It's pitiful.
By the way Steve. You called this one. Talk about picking a big upset, this was it.

this game has defined the remaining games. The Packers will be very "lucky" to finish with a 4-3 record. That would give them there 10-6 mark which I think this year will not be good enough for a wild card. maybe the 6th seed, but I do not think so.

I just had a gut feeling this was how it was going to play out this week. I was also hoping like crazy I was wrong. I just read something that last year we were 6-3 and made an impressive run the last half of the year. I just haven't seen us look this bad before so consistently. Makes me wonder what happened over the bye week? A win this week would do wonders but I just can't see it happening.
