I don't feel confident about this game at all. My gut tells me Rodgers will bounce back after a terrible game and the Pack wins a close one this week. A loss would not surprise me though.
Packers 24 Panthers 21

Panthers 31 Packers 20
I hope I'm wrong, but I have the impression that the Panthers have more confidence right now than the Packers. I don't think the game plan will be able to stop another QB who can move the ball around, and run, when necessary. To keep track of them, we need to have a spy, and we don't have LBs fast enough to stay with Newton.
I'd be happy being wrong on this one.

Jeepers TW, I'm usually the board pessimist! Deep down I'm afraid you are going to be right, but I hope not!

I'm afraid that in their haste to get to Newton, the middle will be open, and we'll see a Rivers like attack that will shred us. If we force the rush, we end up giving Newton open running lanes, and he's quick. This is one of those games that I was worried about before we even went to Denver, where I thought the Packers had about an even shot.
Newton can be scary, especially when he has his confidence.

I think Rodgers is pissed and won't have 2 poor games like that in a row.

I don't think Rodgers game will be the issue. If their pass rush is too fast - like in Denver - it doesn't make any difference how he tries to do his job, there won't be open receivers. I think McC will compensate by trying to stuff the ball with a running game, and when they fall behind because it isn't working, he won't have a game plan that can exploit the weaknesses that may exist in the Carolina defense.
The two things that can beat us.
1. A superior pass rush by Carolina 2. Inability to cover both short passes and QB scrambles
Control those two factors and we win handily. Fail to address it, and we'll see just as weak a showing as we did against the Broncos.

I think his game has been an issue and he needs to play better. As does the Oline. Carolina's rush is not as fierce as Denver's...which should help. What they do have is great middle linebackers that can pursue sideline to sideline.

we have no passing game that scares no team. the receivers are all the same type, they do not have great size and speed, but are good hands, they are the kind that run good routes for short to med and help the TE(which is a worry still) run the slants.but we have no player that can go deep on the sidelines and make the behind the back or stretch and leap catch. it just makes it so easy for a defense to play man-to-man and keep the safeties on top because we also cannot run the d---ball. the defense still gives almost any rb look good.

Pretty much what I expected at halftime. The Panthers aren't nearly as good on offense as the Packers have made them look. With no pass rush, those long passes that were caught were gifts. With a rush, he never gets the chance to float them deep on the opposite side of the defender.
On offense, we can't stop their pass rush. Nobody seems to see their ILBs hitting the gaps by Linsley. Then, when they fake it, our offensive line whiffs on guys coming in off tackle. Totally bad play, and a responsibility of coaching. You need to define who does what on these darned plays, not blame it on "execution."
I hope we have a better second half so we don't look pathetic.

If anyone says that they "almost came back for a win," I'm going to start laughing. They may have made it close in the end, but in reality, the Packers are a team with problems, and the only way they began moving the football late was when Rodgers started playing school yard football. As far as the defense, the pushing match between two defenders may have lit a fire for all of them, that they need. They way that defense sets up, the down linemen, the linebackers, or the defensive backs, automatically get "blamed" for plays that happen. The problem is, they don't have the sets that make coverage possible.
The Panthers are not a better team than the Packers. That said, the Packers were still outplayed, and our coaches weren't as good as theirs. Happens way too often.
Might look at my keys I indicated earlier in this thread.

We didn't get the game today since we played at the same time as the Vikiings. I could have found a place to watch it but chose to spend the day deer hunting instead. Doesn't sound like I missed much.

Too bad they didn't have that same fight on the field. Once again, a loss to a good team on the road. The next 4 games will determine a lot. Either way, I think this team has proven it's not elite and another loss early in the playoffs is very likely.
