How good are the Vikings? I don't think they're that good. Their passing game isn't good enough to be a contender. Yes, they have Peterson, and yes, he can do damage, but he can't carry the ball on every down, and Bridgewater doesn't have the skill and acumen to pick another team apart, like Rodgers, Rivers, and the rest. He seems to be automatic in his check downs, and that means he can't anticipate what's happening on the field. That's the mark of a good QB. Anticipate and get the ball where you expect and anticipate a player will be, and out of the range of defenders.
To put it bluntly, they may stop some teams from putting up big points but their lack of offense outside of Peterson, is going to hobble them. Eventually, they'll fold.
As for Detroit. I'm glad they haven't got it together, and probably won't this year. Now they're even second guessing themselves on the sideline, and that's indecision, and in the end, another loss.
The Vikings made them look bad. Does that tell you anything? Not even Johnson catching passes can overcome team and coaching indecisive decisions.
