I warned about this. Saw it before the coaches. Worst part is, I don't see either of our first two picks really being able to pick up the slack. Gonna be some long passes burning us early.

Hayward seems better fit as a slot db in the nickel and dime and even a better Strong Saftey. he can keep the play in front of him and he has the instinct to the ball. they should in my ides move Sean Richardson to the outside or see if he can add 10 lbs and play outside linebacker he might play better there. although i like his current role in the fact he plays S.S. and he can make the tackles on the runs.

I'm not certain Richardson would be of value in a changed role. They brought in two picks for CB, that they seem to believe is the future, and the idea of plugging in different people now, behind Shields & Hayward, probably a bad choice. That would relegate our top two picks to a "learning year," and mistakes made at nickel and dime, to say the least. Not something that will play well on the scoreboard.

I agree with you. If you notice that is why i mentioned that he is good as a ss because he has the range and size to play the run. I am really hoping that both the first round pick(Ramdall and the second pick Rollins can make a big positive impact this year

I actually believe that Rollins is more prepared to step up than Randall. In all honesty, I would have opted for someone else in the first round, and taken Rollins ahead of him, in round 2.
I get the impression the Packers were trying to hit one out of the park, by being in a position to move forward with two new CBs within the next two years. That could still be the case.
In the meantime, with no pass rush, we're putting all these guys out on an island that's hard to defend. It's a trade mark of the Capers defense.
I'm really beginning to wonder why I thought Capers was that solid as a coach years ago. What did I miss?

years ago the 3-4 was not that well used, So i am just guessing he had an advantage then, but now not so much now, and to make such a type Defense work you need MORE elite players on the 11 than you do with the 4-3 type defense.
