Barclay has pretty much lost his battle to be a top sub for the Packers. Josh Walker has outplayed him, and will more than likely get the playing time. I still think Barclay gets cut. You need to improve each year to stay in this league, not go backwards, and watching Aaron getting nailed because Barclay can't play left tackle pretty much sealed the deal in my mind. That was week #1, and my observation even when they played the scrimmage.
Bradford? The guy who would replace Hawk? What a joke! The guy is worthless, and the Packers are still trying to make him "serviceable." Sorry! That's a waste of time. Admit you have a problem and move on. That's a roster spot that needs to be filled. Hell! It's a hole on the starting defense, and we're going to get gashed because of it, if they don't find someone who could cover those gaps like Hawk. Personally, I think we're going to see teams run us like they owned us for at least the first eight games, then when they fill that hole, it will be cause they drop a D back down to fill it, and we're going to be a sieve against the pass. Time to find a guy who can step up, or get rid of this worthless defensive scheme.
Guion to miss 3 games on suspension. Gee! I wonder why? Another moron who shouldn't be allowed in the league. Too stupid to know the law don't cut it.
I'm tired of watching the Packers staff treat Hundley like he was an NFL caliber player. He ain't. He's another QB who doesn't have the vision to be a prolific passer, and in this league, you either have it or you don't. The only true hybrid who can run and pass, in my opinion, is Russell Wilson. He scares the bejeebers out of me when he plays against the Packers. He just plain makes things happen. You can call it luck. I call it making things happen.
The most wasted picks in this year's draft? To be honest, who has stepped up and made an impact yet? We have two CBs who could easily be called "The burned brothers." They're toast for good receivers, and double moves by even slower WRs. Scary! Will they improve? They have to. They won't give up on either of them.
Who needs to step up? Casey Hayward. The guy has talent and has moved backwards. Not acceptable for a DB. It's like he's play in fear of getting hurt. He needs to get past this.
Matthews. Come on! He's good. Everyone knows this. He's a big play guy. What happens between those plays? Lots of mistakes, and whiffs on assignments. He needs to stay healthy, and to be honest, playing him inside opens up our outside way too much. If he's a 90 on the outside, he's a 75 inside, and we don't have a 75 to play outside, that can replace him. Someone suggested flipping him so he and Peppers are on the same side. You just run away from them, problem solved. Need them as outside book ends, and need someone with the motor of Matthews to play inside, so Matthews stays outside and maintains his coverages.
Raji is the key to the defensive line. He either knocks them dead or we suck. Daniels wants guarantees, and to be honest, he's good, but I'd trade him now, for a pick next year, to avoid giving him an over sized contract next year, that is beyond his value. Sometimes players have contract aspirations far above their value. He's one of them.
Anyhow, those are my rants, just prior to playing two more preseason games. Will Abbs be back tomorrow? If not, wave to him as he leaves GB. His concussion was way too severe to risk him being on the roster when the season starts.
