As much as I wanted to see Abbs make this team, I think that's not going to happen. He has now missed 13 consecutive practices days, due to concussion, and I think they waive him as soon as he's ready to hit the field. Too much risk their, as far as they are concerned. Just my opinon.
I saw where Gerhart totally owned Christian Ringo in one on one drills. It tells me Gerhart will be matched up against even better talent this coming week, and if he does well, he sticks with the team. As for Ringo, I have a hunch he's one of the early cuts.
There seems to be a lot of decent young talent on this team, but I wonder if it's really there, in depth, at positions we're concerned about? I'm not seeing that much inside and outside help at linebacker to be honest. Just a lot of "coach speak" that makes it sound like we have 12 all pros out there. On the defensive line, I see us struggling early on due to suspensions, and quite honestly, what I see as not that much true pass pressure talent. On this, I could be wrong, but when they talk highly of Ringo one day, as if he's almost a shoe in to make the team, then he gets owned by a guy who's considered a possible sub, or cut, it makes me wonder how honest the info we get out of camp really is.
It's time the Packers coaching staff call it the way it is instead of these flowery comments. I listen to coaches around the league talk about players needing to step it up - including vets - and in GB? Nada!
You win championship by challenging players to play at their utmost limits.
