I'd be willing to bet almost anything that Tom Brady's suspension for the deflated footballs will be cut in half, maybe less. This whole thing - with the NFL - is a joke. They won't step on him as hard as they said, and they'll reduce the penalty against the team. They never intended it to be as big as it shows, out front.
The fact is, the Patriots and Brady will be "judged" not on guilt, by the NFL, but by their appeal on TV, and that's what wins in their "court."
The fact remains, the Pats have been caught cheating and rigging things so often that their name should officially be changed to the "Chetriots."
I'm sick of these slaps on the wrist for major violations. The ball pressure may have added several catches to their total in that cold weather game. It's an insult to the league.

If Brady misses just two games that gives the ball to there 2nd QB who looks good but unproven OR to Flynn, who i think they signed to play if Brady does miss some time. I guess that they think he can manage the offense well enough to keep them in the games. Brady sure is working hard to get the lighter punishment.

It speaks highly of what the Pats believe Flynn can do, if he's needed.

Flynn ,when he first came to Green Bay learned well and his size and smarts let him to become a solid back up if needed, When he had a couple good games and his contract was up, How could anyone blame him for getting the most money he could? I hated to see him leave. AT the Seahawks, i think he hurt himself by trying to do more than he needed to, He is a smart accurate pocket passer. He never had the rocket arm, but he could make all the throws, His toughest was side and out, His deep ball was really not bad but it took a long time to develop the timing with players in Seattle and Oakland. New England i think just might give him time needed if he is not thrust into action because of Brady. we shall see.

He also went into both Seattle & Oakland, then had injuries, that effected his throws. He didn't see good QB coaching again until he returned to the Packers. Buffalo signed him with the hope that he could be "converted" as a QB. Not so easy for a guy who has been running the WCO and variations for so long. He even ran it at LSU. They essentially never game him a chance. Russell Wilson was polished at QB when he joined the Seahawks, and was an instant success because of it. That made it even more difficult for Flynn. Oakland is a crap shoot for anyone. A revolving door of QBs, all being blamed for the lack of coaching and talent on the team.
People forget what a gamer Flynn is. At LSU, he was unfortunate to play behind two great college QBs. But, when he was a red-shirt senior, he lit it up, and brought LSU all the way through the season to a national championship, largely because of his field leadership and sometimes unbelievable throws under pressure. Like I said. Matt Flynn is a gamer, and smart coaches know that a gamer can keep your team alive, off the bench.
If we see Brady suspended for eight games, we will see Flynn saving their season. If it's a shorter suspension, maybe not. Hard to say at this point, but there';s a reason teams want to see what he can do.

people forget to that Flynn when in Seattle had much better stats during camp and during preseason games. The difference was Wilson ran with the ball as well as throw it and even though Flynn was more accurate and had better touch, The total of 2 things cost Flynn his almost chance at being the starter. One was he did not run was a pocket passer and they wanted to have him run , since they needed a QB that could at the time the hawks really had not a very good group of receivers but did have Lynch to run. plus there offensive line was not that good on one side of the ball. secondly they realized what a huge contract they gave him and needed to get out of it soon because they had players to pay to keep the core of the team decent. So they pushed his very good preseason numbers to teams that just needed a starter, and kept a running Wilson and unloaded the cap and contract right away. I hope Flynn does catch on somewhere, he earned that shot. I wish him well.
