I may be old school, but the extra point as it is seems pretty fair. If you want to change it, allow the two to stand as it is, and move the ball out to the 15 yard line for the kicks. That would make it a 32 yard attempt. But, doing away with the 1 point kick and going to a conversion from 1 1/2 yards out is preposterous. It will favor the teams with great run games. Hell~! If they intend doing that, let's just eliminate all extra points. One of the things that kept tension in a game was when a team was 1 point down, whether they'd go for the tie or win. Lots of games ended up being won or lost by that decision at some point in the game. I'm afraid the NFL is leading itself into an area like baseball did, where they are creating more scoring, and the relative value of the score less meaningful. I'm a believer the the 755 HRs by Aaron is the best in baseball, and nobody has hit more than Ruth's 60 & Maris 61 with extra games. These "new records" are so tainted they don't belong to the game. sports.yahoo.com/news/change-extra-points-likely-nfl-185147564--nfl.html

think of it this way also. starting from the 2 yard line for a 2 pointer is almost stat wise a 50-50 deal. So,.. do they say kick from the 33 yard line 4 times and convert a league average 93% or go for 2 points 4 times and hope to make just one more over the 50-50? ave. or just wait until the situation deems it a must to do the 2? all depends on what the other team does to.

Today's NFL has the new extra point being the same as a chip shot FG, if you listen to announcers.
I just don't like the league tinkering with things that aren't broken.
Think about it this way. When Travis Williams was setting the old NFL record for kick offs returned for TDs, the kicker and defense was 10 yards closer to him, making the kicks more difficult to return all the way. Guys who did it were deep in the end zone when they got the ball. Now, kicking off from the 30, the ball is driven into the front of the end zone and the defense is an extra ten yards back at the kick. It's an easier return today. Williams is still the record holder in my book. He did it the hard way.
These changes aren't to better the game, they're to create hype, and recognition as being the guys who "improved the game," even if they didn't.

, and besides the rules have changed a lot since then. One big change was the wedge is gone, used to be huge linemen were on the field to form and TE's and linebackers to cover the edges. they have to block the fast. Today you see one maybe two line men and the rest are the fast solid hitters all cb.s safeties, linebackers and a linemen with a TE that has speed . no wedge allows them to find more gaps in the coverage, before if you had a very fast return player what he needed to do was clear the wedge and hit the edges and out run coverage. thus more TD returns. today the players are spread across the field more and many are as fast as the return man. One reason they are looking more today for not just fast but a bigger 220 lb returner to have the ability to break tackles from players his own size and speed. Montgomery is a big player with quickness and speed with good footwork, i hope he works out in the Kick return for us. thery used to kick off at the 20 and now it is moved up to the 30, letting the kicker put it to the back of the end zone causing yet another ten yards to return. only difference is now they have the entire width of the field to look for a gap and must face people his own speed and size almost. fewer return now then before because almost every team has a player who can kick deep enough to lower the number of % returns.

Even the change in the clock. Clock stopped when they stepped out of bounds. Now that's only in the last few minutes of each half. They said it would speed the game up. In a way it does, but it still takes as long, because they used that extra time for commercials. Another "lie" they told to justify what they did in rules changes.
