Yup! We sold our house in Rockford, IL, and went south, and bought a winter home in Weslaco, TX. It's near the Mexican border, and they think it's hellishly cold if the temp doesn't get above 70 during the day, and drops below 60 at night.
We bought the place yesterday, and move in on Tuesday. Our furniture will get here about.... I don't know for sure. Part of it was shipped to Phoenix by accident, and has had a one week vacation. LOL
Anyhow, it's a 55+ resort community with a nice year round heated pool and activities darned near every day.
We're going to enjoy our summers in Wisconsin and winters down here, watching the snowstorms on TV, while sitting at the pool having an iced tea, or something stronger.
We've been invited to a party Sunday night. It's brats, tacos, refried beans, burgers, cold beer, and we'll be wearing shorts.
