I know people die. I've seen a lot of it. I've lost so many friends, and family. Yet, within the last 48 hours, one of the finest people I've had the honor to meet passed away. I had the honor of knowing him for only 7 years, and worked for him three of them. He was unique, always had a smile for everyone, and was someone I respected very much.
He was only 52 years old. He'd just reached the pinnacle of his career this past winter. After years of working, and growing, in the food/resort/hotel industry, he'd become the #1 man for a new chain that was building hotels, restaurants, fast food franchises, and motels in North & South Dakota, and was going to start building more in Texas within the coming year. He was not only a wise person from the standpoint of business, but also the kind of person everyone would love to work with/for.
He died of a heart attack. No warning. He just left us. He leaves behind a wife, and two kids in colleges in Wisconsin. One with 1 year to go after this, another with two.
His wife was just concluding arrangements to ship everything to North Dakota, and his headquarters, where they'd live. Everything was to be shipped today.
I will never forget my friend. He was a special person. He'll always be in my prayers.
