Liberals show no respect? Don't make me laugh! That's a bone-headed statement if I ever heard one. It's the right wing hate mongers who follow the mantra that; "The only good Muslim is a dead one.," not the left. The WASP movement respects nobody except their own little established group of self-loving hypocrites. But that's just my opinion.

I disagree. From the pledge of Allegiances to the 10 Commandments at the local Court House, to a white cross standing along the road side to religious institutions opposed to birth control; liberals' can't leave well enough alone.
When I was a young man, my parents took me to different places where customs and culture were different than my own.
My parents didn't make a ruckus telling others we didn't believe as they did or tell them they were wrong in how they conducted themselves.
Instead, our parents taught us to be silent and to respect the beliefs of others. Liberals could be enlightened by being quiet and listening to others.
I also find it quite hypocritical to defend the Muslim faith, yet turn around and undermine the Christian faith.
If you believe its wrong how far right freaks demean the Muslim faith, the best thing a person can do to show their disdain is to support differing belief systems, not just the ones that reflect the President's faith.

Man! You lived in South Dakota! Out there, the people who lived on the next block were a different "culture!" The only people not lily white were Indians, and they were conveniently tucked away on reservations off the beaten path so nobody would see their problems. I've seen how counties actually handled roads to reservations. Old dirt roads, rarely maintained, where a barrel of milk would be churned into butter, just by driving over them. They heard rumors out there - last week - that Eisenhower is running for a second term! How'd you like the road/churn bit? Would that work for Colbert? ;D

You are right about South Dakota where the next block was a different culture; that is why I am so open minded and accepting.
The Indians weren't tucked away on reservations. They lived in many communities throughout South Dakota, and I was very good friends with many. It is through them, that I learned about different spiritual systems.
We also had the Hutterites, who were German; had a strong Norwegion influence in South East SD etc. too.
I do have to admit, I never saw a black man in person until I was 18 except on television.
You are right about the roads near to and on the reservation. In fact, you could tell when you left State land onto tribal land because the fence posts on indian land were made from tree limbs and, yes, you could churn milk into butter on those washboard roads. But those roads aren't the State's fault. It's a Federal concern.
