Republicans have been calling school teachers militant union thugs for a while now.
After what happened in Newtown, they now want to arm these "thugs."
Something doesn't seem to quite sit right with this picture, does it?

did they not arm the airline pilots? the problem is the people making the laws with the people with the money telling them what to pass. I am not for arming the teachers. today in this world so many things are a cause for the trouble the good people have to live in. don't think for a second that the middle east in there threats that they will bring death and terror to the USA meant only suicide bombing, they brain wash the under educated and the druggys and othe types ,citizens of this country and send them out to kill there own, just like they do overseas, the PEOPLE of this country have put the load on the elected to do everything for them, they just stay out of the way, now , finally some people are trying to voice the wrong doings, but they have such a huge grip on this country it will take many lives and years to get back to a decent Moral counrty, not in my lifetime for certain. and don't ask if i ever say or try to do anything i have and i will continue.to try and get people to wake up, just like voting i always said and still do, these country for the President of the USA should have a voter turnout of over 85%. never been close. who cares?

Different context? Aren't these the same teachers they call union thugs?
Pretending one day they are gangsters, and the next they are Wyatt Earp is what don't make sense.
As for teachers being armed, that's absurd, even though it's already starting in Texas. Of course, that's to make up for their lack of having a big enough..... never mind!
It would give new meaning to the word "detention," when an armed teacher is walking around the room, where the students are held.
No thanks!

Most I talk to don't even view teachers as thugs.
It's the union leadership who are considered thugs and most understand that most teachers are pimped and used for the financial and political purposes of the Union.

I'm trying to weigh the value of a teacher based on how being "non-union" or "union" would have played out in the incident that happened in Connecticut. I just can't fathom how a grading system determined by the overseers of schools would justify rating those teachers who gave their lives for the students.
Like I said, the system pretty much weeds out the bad teachers, and the union doesn't really stand in the way of getting rid of them. But it plays well with non-union people to refer to the union as the protector of the worthless teacher.
The next question I ask is how much is a person worth - wages wise - when they are willing to take a bullet for the children they protect. That happened in Newtown. Now, can someone put a price on that for us... in terms of "non-union value?"

It's an understatement to say the culture of this nation has its values upside down.
Teachers and caregivers are paid pittance compared to 8th grade reading level sports stars.

It's an understatement to say the culture of this nation has its values upside down. Teachers and caregivers are paid pittance compared to 8th grade reading level sports stars. without out a doubt! i wrote this here before i think only in detail then but not now, I had asked the question many times how the American public can pay lets say a TV acting star 30 million a year. or a sports player playing a game for 117 million contract. or movie stars making millions. the real reason put simply is when you have the easiest and fewest jobs for a certain occupation they make the working majority pay for them. and they pay because it makes them "feel" good, noy doubt teachers, caregivers, docs, policeman should be paid well noythe like the ones i just mentioned but well, and those should never get payed that much to be lousey at ther work, just like a CEO screws up and they give him 8 million dollars for not being able to do his job that he was hired for. you try that at your job,,,, right? i will see you looking for another and with no bonus or servence or thank you ,money for failing.

But... the dumb jocks who make all that money so they can afford to pay for a happy ending.
As dumb as some are, it's the only action they'll get.
