Republican South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley announced Monday her decision to appoint Rep. Tim Scott to succeed Republican Sen. Jim DeMint—a decision she deemed "historic."

It may be a good choice for the party, or it could be another like we saw with West, in Florida.
The belief that the blacks will vote for him because he's black doesn't necessary float. Allen West found himself on the outside looking in, despite being a tp favorite.

I'd expect no other response from you on this issue.
It reminds me of the Minnesota Vikings, who have never lost a game, but been screwed out of a hell of a lot of them by bad officiating.
West lost, plain and simple. It wasn't nearly as divisive as the crap pulled by the Bush supporters for two straight Presidential elections, that's for sure.

I hate redistricting. It's always done with pure political selfishness at the root of the decision.
That's cost a lot of good Congressional people their jobs over the years.
