Since Republicans and the wealthiest 1% repeatedly profit at the expense of our hard working and honorable US soldiers, why don't more Republicans and the wealthiest 1% serve in the US military? WHY? Republicans and the wealthiest 1% are WIMPS and neither possess the physical strength, skill, heart, desire, stamina, intelligence, animal and survival instincts that the majority of the US military are equipped with. The majority of the US military is from lower to mid income level families and these soldiers are hungry and ambitious to EARN a better life and income for themselves and their families. Whereas, many Republicans and the wealthiest 1% either DEMAND to be waited on or simply do not need whatever the US military has to offer them. Who would you rather have in a fight? A member of the wealthiest 1% or a person who is from a lower to middle income family? The only thing that I would worry about when fighting a Republican or somebody who is one of the wealthiest 1%..is their scratching or biting me or their repeatedly tell me 'NO MAS' as I repeatedly beat the living daylight out of them.

Unfortunately most of what you said is correct. It's the lower 50% of the income chain that actually does the fighting for this nation.
A good example of they whiny upper class is George Bush, whose Daddy got him into a Guard unit as an Admiral's Orderly, so the little puke didn't have to risk his life to defend his nation.
The older Bush, regardless of what people think of him as a President, at least stepped up and did his duty during WWII. It's a shame he wasted his own reputation by getting his son a pass.
Let's hope that November finds the voters in the US understanding of the needs of this country to bond together, and rid the Republican Party of the Cheneys, so they can get to the real root of what Conservatism is, and not this unorganized, or acceptable TP influence, previously known as the neocons. Changing a name doesn't change who they are. Skunks still smell like skunks, even if you put a rabbit fur coat on them.

I said it before, this country is a bunch of enablers and people who think the other guy will do the right thing. that is why we never hit 70 % of the voters once every four years to vote for the biggest person in our country let alone talk about the bums we let get in on Congress,. the recent French election the voter were 0ver 80%, the middle east countries even have a better turn out then the Powerful U.S.A. when we turn out into the 85% range maybe we will staRT TO get the moral, smart people in that care about everyone from poor to the wealthy, and do so for the BENIFIT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!!! Yes. Let's emulate the French and the region of the world that likes to fire bomb our citizens and kill Jews.

I would add to what Amoeba said ; we should send the entire profession who historically and overwhelmingly voted to send our soldiers to war. www.legalreform-now.org/menu1_5.htm

My point is because there are lots and lots of Americans who are part of the problem..who whine and complain, who abuse the system by taking advantage, who might represent a HUGE percentage of the Americans who repeatedly refuse to vote.

I was just talking to my Son in Afghanistan, via Skype, less than two hours ago. He said something interesting.
Officers are very much aware of the voting process. But, for some reason, there isn't that much communication with the enlisted personnel.
Historically officers favor the right, and enlisted favor the left.
He's voting, and so are a lot of the guys in unit.
Who's he voting for? I'm not certain. That's his choice.

The "informed" in this day and age, are the fringe on the left and the right.
Everyone else has tuned in and dropped out.

Good point. I think that's why we see swings in voting that aren't too great, each time around.
There are those stuck in a position that wouldn't change no matter what, on both sides of issues. Then there's the swing votes, which can make or break candidates.
I honestly believe my son is a swing voter, and usually I am too.
